Willow

I slam my clarinet case close and rush out of the room to my locker before anyone can see me cry. I'm not sure why the tears started to rush down my face, but they did. They weren't from being sad that Jordan had broken up with me, I mean I am more then glad that I'm done with him, but from being angry for the way he had done it and him flirting with every girl he could lay his eyes on right in front of me. I open my locker door and wipe away the angry tears before anyone can see me.

"Hey," I peak my head out of my locker to see who said that and see Rosemarie opening her putting her combination in a few lockers down. I stick my head back in my locker and busy myself before she can see my red puffy eyes and ask what's wrong. "So have you talked to Jordan lately?" She asks, alittle to eager.

"Um, yeah. Just this morning." I quietly whisper back to her.

"What did he say?" She slams her locker and rushes over to mine. I ignore the eagerness in her voice and think of a nice way to tell her that he's an asshole.

"He didn't say anything," I look at her and see her face drop then continue. "But you can do a lot better then him, trust me."

"But I really-" She starts to say before I cut her off.

"No, really you can do way better. So just stay away from him." I grab my lunch card and was about to close my locker door before she starts to stare at me in an angry way. "What?"

"How do I know that your just saying this to keep him for yourself. I heard about how you two had a thing, but when you said you'd help me I thought that it was just a lie. I guess you just can't trust people now adays." She crosses her arms across her chest and glares at me.

I shake my head at her and laugh. " Whatever we 'had' is done, it's completely gone. I'm only saying this stuff so you don't get your heart broken and torn into pieces like I did. You can decide whether to listen to me or not, but just remember that I told you so." I slam my locker door close and rush towards lunch. I push open the doors and wait in the back of line, I look around and see everyone whispering.

"What's going on in here?" I jump and turn to see Cody in line behind me.

"Holy crap! You scared me to death!" I say holding my hand over my heart.

"Good," He laughs. I go to glare at him but can't help to laugh to. "But, no, really what happened?"

"I'm not sure," I turn around to look and see the line had finally reached the lunch room, I look around and see a janitor cleaning up a red mess. "Is that?"

"Blood?" Cody finishes for me. "I hope not, but if it is I wonder what must have happened."

"Maybe someone tripped and hit their head on a table," I point at the white table now stained red. "Hopefully it's not something terrible." I grab a plate and go through the lunch line. I have the lunch lady scan my card then look around the room to see where to sit. "Hey, maybe Kyle will know," I turn and start to walk towards his empty table. "Hey, mind if we sit here?" I ask and set my plate down across from him.

"Go ahead," He says with a mouth full of corn dog. He swallows it then clears his throat. "Do you guys know what happened here?"

"No, we were just going to ask you that." Cody says, opening his milk.

"Hmm," He sighs, then turns to smirk at me.

"What's with the smirk"? I ask him and take a drink of my chocolate milk.

"So, I heard about this morning," He teases. I about spit my milk out at him and freeze.

"Who told you? How many other people know?" I bombard him with questions.

"Chillax! Carmen told me and I think only me or does he?" Kyle laughs then points at Cody.

"Oh yeah, you said you were gonna tell me later and it is later, so tell me." He looks at me, waiting for me to explain.

"Oh, yeah. Well, um." I stutter not sure how to explain it.

"You see, her and Jordan got in a fight and by the way Carmen said you two both got really mad at each other. I mean really mad." Kyle interrupts.

"Yeah, what he said."  I take a bite out of my corn dog for an excuse not to speak. As soon as I'm done with my corn dog the loud lunch room goes completely silent. I look around and see the principle walk into the room and head my way.  I widen my eyes and hope she doens't stop at our table, but she still does.

"Willow, you are very good friends with Carmen right?" She asks me.

"Yeah," I shake my head and say quietly, quietly praying Carmen isn't in huge trouble.

"And Jordan?" She asks again.

I hesitate to answer her, "Uh, yeah." Kyle silently laughs at my answer.

"What's so funny?" She glares at him.

"Nothing," He stops laughing and sits up straighter.

"Well then, Willow, would you please come with me?"

"Will you tell me what happened here?" I point at the mess and she nods her head. I stand up quickly and follow her out of the lunch room with the whispers starting up again, but this time I know what they are about.
