Willow

The entire drive back to my house I tried to think of excuses of why Jordan did that to Carmen, but my mind comes up blank. "I'm sorry about that," I say glad to break the silence.

"It's ok, not like he could of hurt me," Carmen smirked just as we pulled into my drive way. I laugh at her response as I park the truck.

"Be very quiet, I don't wanna wake my parents." I whisper as we enter through the front door and go to the kitchen, but as we are walking through the threshold Carmen trips, making it not so quiet. "Are you ok?!" I asked, running over to her.

"Yeah, I just have a pounding headache." She rubs her head and tries to stand up but failing. I try to help her up, but pushes me away mumbling something about being fine.

"Go up to my room and I'll grab you a couple of Tylenol." She nodded her head then starts to stagger up the stairs. I grab whatever I think she'll need then head up the stairs after her. I shake her awake and hand her all the stuff. "Here, take this and drink all of this," She nods her head and grabs the water and greedily chugs it.

"Thanks, Willow, night." She lays her head back on my pillow and is instantly out.

"Welcome," I whisper, the tiredness hitting me. I fall asleep, thinking of all the events of tonight.

I wake up to the smell of bacon. "Mmm, bacon." I start to sit up and go to wake Carmen up, but she isn't there. I rub my eyes and start to go towards the smell of the delicious food. "Mom, it smells amazing!" But I stop myself once I see Carmen and Kyle sitting at the table drinking orange juice and casually chatting with my mom.

"Well, hello sleepy head!" My mom chirps as she sets down a plate of bacon. "Carmen here was just telling me how fun of a time you guys had last night and Kyle just came over to invite you guys to the Mini Mall."

"Oh, " I sit down in the empty seat between the two and grab a hand full of bacon. I look up at Carmen and give here a quizzical look. She looks back at me and grins. I widen my eyes at the thought of what she might have said.  Once Carmen sees my scared face it makes her grin even more.

"Well, if it's ok with you ma'am, would you too like to go to the Mini Mall?" Kyle asks interrupting Carmen and my silent conversation.

"I would love to," Carmen beams and jumps out of her chair. All three of them look me.

"Um, you guys go. I have some, er, home work to do." I stutter trying to think of an explanation to skip out. Carmen gives me puppy dog eyes and I shake my head. "I'll walk you guys out." I put my bacon down and start to walk out the door.

"What's the real reason why you don't want to go?" Carmen asks stopping just outside the front door.

"Cause I can tell if I go I'll be a third wheel," I smile. "You two go and have fun and have a fudgie for me." I smile and wave watching the two of them walk down the driveway in step. I close the door and return to the kitchen to finish my bacon.
