Carmen

"What were you guys talking about?" Willow asks as she hands everybody their fudgie. She slides into the chair we left open for her. I can clearly see worry their and my smile widens at it.

"Nothing," Jordan says with a certain crack in his voice. I meet his eyes over the table and I can see he is nervous out of his mind. I wink at him before pushing my chair back and standing up. I grab Kyle's hand and start to pull him away from the table.

"Well you two kids have fun!" I yell at them, pulling Kyle deeper into the store.

"Wait a minute... Carmen!" Willow stares at me through wide eyes as realisation hits her. She is going to be alone with Jordan.

"Ta ta for now! T.T.F.N!" I yell out Tigger's goodbye before the disappear from view. "And goodluck," I whisper to nobody in particular.

"So, where are we going to go?" The sound of Kyle's voice pulls me back to where we are. Standing still in the middle of an isle. I look over at Kyle. I forgot he was there. I look down at our entwined fingers.

"Carmen?" Kyle asks. I remove my eyes from our hands, looking up into his chestnut brown eyes.

"What?"

"From here your eyes down look black. They look like a dark swirling brown... They also look like tunnels. I feel like if you look at them long enough you'll be able to see what is just on the other side..." I feel my cheeks turning red. I take a step closer to him, never taking my gaze off his own brown eyes.

"I don't know if you want to see what's on the other side," I say. "I'm not sure anybody in their right mind wants to."

"But I want to," he leans closer to me.

"Then you aren't in your right mind," I say leaning into him.

"Maybe it's okay to be crazy...." He whispers, his breath traveling across my cheeks. We are literally inches apart...

"Kyle?!" I pull away from Kyle, even pulling my hand out of his. I look to see who screamed. Sam. Great! Who else could it have been! She has tears running down her cheeks and she turns and runs away.

"Sam!" Kyle yells taking after her.

"Kyle, wait," I say taking a step after him. He looks back at me, his heart breaking in his eyes. I hold back on telling him not to go after her, that she is probably running to some other guy's arms, that she really doesn't love him the way he loves her. Instead I whisper, "I'm sorry." He takes off after her, leaving me alone.
