Willow
I smile at Carmen, then shake my head and laugh lightly. I can't believe I'm doing this, I think to myself. Carmen looks at me, her eyes wide with surprise.
"What?" I ask laughing alittle harder now.
"Are you OK? Do we need to bring you to the E.R.?" She puts the back of her hand to my forehead.
"No! I am perfectly fine. Why would you say that?" I push her hand away, sitting alittle straighter.
"Hm, well, I don't know. It might have to do with how you don't smile or laugh."
"I do to!" I glare at her .
"Um, she is right." Jordan interupts. "I've only been here for a day and this was the first time I've seen you smile." I start glaring at him too. His cheeks start to redden and I stop, looking at Carmen now.
"It probably doesn't help that you glare at everyone also." Carmen says, leaning back in her chair and taking a sip of her fudgie.
"I do not! And, yes, I do smile. Thank you very much!"
"You do not! You need to let go and be a badass! Like me!" She stands on top of the table yelling out her version of Jingle Bells. I hear Jordan laugh and starting laughing also. "Today is history! Willow has just laughed twice in one day! Someone contact the news. Contact the President!!"
"Haha. OK, I get the point! I will try and let loose!" I laugh, clutching my side. "Just get done from there!"
"As long as you pinky promise me you will laugh once a day from now on."
"OK. I promise." She gets down from the table and raises her pinky to mine. This, I thought, is one of the most regretted decisions I have made so far, but now I am starting to think this is also one of the bet.
