Unedited.....

A bit to short for my liking too.....

I typed down the remaining of what I had in mind and saved it. I shut down my laptop.

I turned to do some actual studying. So, I decided to start with my Chem calculations for the assignment next week. It was supposedly carrying twenty percentage of my total marks. And I sucked when it came to Chem theorems and practical. The mugging up part was easy, since it was only, you know, mugging up. But these were tricky.

It was five in the evening now. Mom and Bri were cooking. Mom was. Bri was just doing whatever she does in the kitchen. It might be called helping mom since I was pretty much useless, but Bri wasn't much of a help either; since what help can a four year old do to you?

I plugged in my earphones and began my long tough journey with chemical equations.

Approximately three minutes after I started, my door was open and Mom was on my door.

I pulled out my earphones.

'Ash, we are going out. Get ready.' Mom said.

I looked surprised. We rarely go out. But mom looked happy too.

Then I remembered. She told me something about it in the morning.

'What is it, mom?' I asked her, curious.

She grinned. 'Surprise.'

She then slammed my door. Wow. Excited much, mom?

If there was one thing I absolutely loathed, that was surprises. I mean, why plan a surprise instead of just telling the person or showing or whatever just right away?

Since it was late at night, and mostly because I was super lazy, I just threw in my dark jeans and a comfy tee. Pulling my hair into a pony, I was all set.

Screw make up at night.

'You ready?' Mom asked once she saw me outside my room.

'Yeah, mom. Can you just spill already?' I asked as I saw that Mom hadn't stopped grinning. Bri was grinning too.

Wait, what?

'You told her?' I asked mom, disbelieving. 'You told her? And not me? What kind of a lame joke is that?' I threw at mom.

Bri giggled a high pitch laugh.

'Fine. You know what?' I asked, turning to mom. 'You could at least pretend that both of us are equal. But no, you have to show everyone that Bri is your fav!' I stormed out of our apartment to catch a lift.

I swear I head both the women giggling again. Wow. Screw both of them.

Throughout the car journey, mom and Bri were cracking stupid jokes and I was well, staring out the window, sulking.

'So,' my mom cleared her throat. 'Ashley, I think you should stop sulking for a while and look ahead.'

I boringly stared in front.

We were at a neighborhood. You know, the ones with actually stacked pretty houses with cool gardens in front? Some even had fountains. All houses were painted neatly and the street was so clean and...

Wait.

I snapped my head towards my mom. Hm... that was cool. I didn't get whiplash.

'Wait, are we doing what I think we are doing?' I asked her, scrunching up my eyes. She'd better not burst my bubbles now.
