I hope this long chapter will make up for my super long absence.
'Nope! Not that one anyways.' Nile shook his head looking at me from the bed.
'Why not?' I asked twirling, feeling the dress in my hands.
'You look like a cute little flower girl for a wedding...is that how you want to look like when we are going somewhere professional? I do admit you look breathtakingly cute.' He added with a wink.
I rolled my eyes and went back inside my closet.
It was a Friday evening and Nile had come over and was helping me choose a dress for our dance competition party. It was a masquerade and we had to go considering the fact that we passed into the next round. It was exciting and overwhelming both at the same time.
Mom and Bri wouldn't help me because they have 'busy schedules'. I'm pretty sure they meant 'ice cream and Finding Dory'. And they didn't even invite me, because they wanted to me focus and have 'fun' apparently at a stupid posh party.
I would trade both my kidneys for a movie and an ice cream.
'I know you would.' Nile called from my room.
Did I just say that aloud?
'Yup!' He called again.
Ugh... 'Yeah whatever.' I called back and continued searching my closet for a dress to wear.
The reason Nile was helping me choose and not my girls were was because Emily had a check-up and Al and Sean had tickets to some nice place and I didn't want to disturb them. No matter how many times they said they would help me and go, I still didn't want to spoil their date night. Besides, I could totally manage this on my own, right?
Wrong.
I didn't know what to wear and Nile and I have to match too. So in my panicky state, when Nile came to pick me up to go, he found me in a bathroom robe and in the middle of a panic attack because I didn't have anything to wear.
Thus, leading to him sitting on my bed and judging whatever I wore to see if it would go with his dress shirt and mask. By the way, he bought the mask for me too, and it's beautiful. Too bad I don't have anything to wear with it.
Aggressively moving my hangers around, I shouted. 'I might as well go naked with only the mask on.'
'Now, that's a scene that every man out there would enjoy but let's not do that, shall we?' Nile spoke from next to me.
I hadn't even seen him walk into the closet.
I looked at him with pleading eyes.
'Can we skip?'
'No, Ash. How about this, we spent one horrible hour at this stupid posh party filled with disgustingly rich people trying to show off their dresses and status and then we take off, come back and I promise to buy you a carton of strawberry cheesecake ice cream and watch whatever the hell you want with you.' He grinned, wiggling his eyebrows.
Damn...strawberry cheesecake ice cream sounds really good right now.
'Okay fine! I have one last dress and you better hope it's fine otherwise I swear I'm done with you!' I said and pushed him outside.
I took the dress off the hanger and wore it. It was a completely white dress, and it came till a bit above my knees. It was pretty. It had net floral sleeves to the elbow and it was really beautiful. The reason I dreaded wearing this? It was skin tight. Like the kind of dress you would wear if you want everyone see the shape of your waist, boobs, ass, etc, etc. and I really don't wanna wear that.
