Unedited. Again.
Mom was standing on the doorway, leaning against it with her arms crossed and wearing an amused expression.
I saw Sean and Al behind her, trying to muffle their laughs.
Then, I realized something terrible. Something awfully terrible that no girl should be in that situation in front of her mom.
I was straddling Nile.
Then another bomb blasted in my head. Mom doesn't know Nile. So, I'm dead.
At this point, all I wish was some damn vampire would come and suck all my blood out and let me die. Better than mom anyway.
Nile was watching us all with an entertained look on his face. That jerk. Hm... he looks so hot lying on the floor.
WHAT THE HELL ASHLEY?
His eyes met mine after a few seconds and he jerked his head to my body.
Shit. I forgot to move.
I quickly jumped off him and straightened my clothes and hair, looking anywhere but at my mom and Nile.
I saw Bri was still giggling. That monkey. I swear.
'So, I think I told you to unpack. Not get down and dirty with some boy.'
My mouth hung open. I saw Nile doing the same.
And the best thing? Mom still had the amused look.
'Mom, I...um...' what the hell was I supposed to say anyways?
I think I should shut up before I mumble something out that was incoherent and would probably end me up in mom's jail.
I decided against it. 'Mom, this is Nile. He's new to town and goes to our school.'
'All right. Now, you three,' she pointed at Nile, Bri and me. 'Start unpacking the remaining and clean up the place.' She turned behind to Al and Sean, 'You two, help me with the groceries.'
She can be the most firm person I know. 'Yes, sir!' Sean said, saluting her. What an idiot?
'Do, I look like I have a moustache or a pair of visible balls? Mom turned to Sean.
All of our mouths were hanging open. Nile quickly covered Bri's ears. 'No...um...No, ma'am.' Sean stammered.
'Good. So please cut the formalities, guys. I was just kidding.' Mom broke into laughter.
Wait. What the actual hell? 'Your faces....' Her eyes tears up at this point. 'God! Priceless!!!'
'Mom!' I hissed. 'Sorry!' she was still giggling.
Finally she sobered up. 'Sorry guys, I just wanted to do that in so long. So guys, back to your jobs. We will all go out for lunch later. Remember, the faster we finish this, the faster we get lunch.' She winked and left.
As soon as she left with Al and Sean, Nile turned to Bri and me. 'That's your mom???'
'Yup!' both of us said back, nodding sympathetically. 'She does have a weird sense of humor.' I added.
'Already figured that out.' Nile said, turning to the nearest carton.
'C'mon girls. Let's get this over with.'
Two hours, twenty five minutes and fifty seconds later, all of us we in the kitchen. Everyone, including mom and Bri. We all decided against ordering and planned to make lunch. Mom and Al was in charge of making the pasta. The boys and Bri in charge of garlic bread and me in charge of French fries. I thought the guys would have a problem cooking at first. But not. Boy, was I impressed. They both were amazing at the kitchen, overwhelming all of us, including mom.
