------------------------------

It all began when she didn't answer the texts. One moment we were teasingly texting, and the next, she goes dead over the phone. First I thought she was busy or something. But what must have happened over a matter of seconds? I tried calling her. She didn't pick up. Did something happen so suddenly that she didn't want to talk to me? I tried calling from my land line. Again no pick up. It wasn't switched off or anything, just no answer. That got me tensed. And I don't know why I even wanted to, but I wanted to see her so bad at this point. Maybe it was the twinkle in her grey eyes, or maybe the way her hair cascaded in brown waves down her shoulders. Or maybe it was just the way she danced, the way she held herself, the way she blushed, the way she smirked, the way she teased. Hell, I really need to see a doctor. And probably grow a pair of balls. There was no way in hell I would fall for her.

She was too good for me and I didn't come here to fall for another girl. I hated her for making me feel this way. But then again, hate is such a strong passion. I came here to forget and move on.

Fuck girls. Be a bad boy again. And wow. Right after getting here for a week, I was falling for a girl. A beautiful one.

Hell, beautiful doesn't even begin to cover it.

So, in the end, I did the stupid thing again. Try visiting her. At midnight. Like the last time I did. Luckily, I don't have to climb floors and it's just a floor to her window. I just hope she won't comment that I'm like that sparkly guy in dumb Twilight. I'm turning creepy.

I parked my black Volvo quietly outside her home. It was dark and no light seemed to come from within. Good. That meant everyone slept.

I slowly went to the side of the house and began climbing. First, I maneuvered myself on the ledge of the window and then, hauled myself up and into the room. Ashley shouldn't really leave the window open like that. What if some creep decided to poke in and kill her or steal something? Wait, I'm the creep here right now.

Once I reached her room, I began to look around in the dark for her sleeping figure in the bed. My eyes swept from the dressing table to the closet to the bathroom to the empty bed. Wait- empty bed?

I switched on the night lamp by her bed. Her room was a mess.

She wasn't here anywhere. Maybe the bathroom? I opened it. It had no one inside. But the clothes Ashley was wearing today seemed to be on the floor. And they looked...wet? Did she decide to take a bath with them on? I walked outside and saw that there were many clothes thrown around the floor. When I visited her room a couple of hours ago, it was speck clean. Did a tornado hit her room alone? And where the hell was she?

I walked outside and slowly opened Bri's room. I saw the baby figure under the duvets, snoring quietly. I closed the door and walked to her mom's door. I stood outside, listening for any noises. None. I just heard Anne's slow sleeping breaths.

That was weird. Where the hell was Ashley?

I walked downstairs and into the kitchen and den. No one. I saw a small closet door open next to the kitchen and cartons inside thrown around.

That's when I heard it. Quiet, muffled, sobs. Shit. This better not be her crying.

I walked towards the sound. It grew louder and louder as I neared it and I heard more sounds. Sound of something being hit and more crying.
