Adriana's POV

So... I'm in a coma. I've been in a coma for about two weeks now and it sucks, other than that it's weird. I'm completely aware of everything that's happening I just can't respond, Which is really annoying when I have good comebacks.

But other than my confusing state between life and death my life was okay before, well, this. To be completely honest this all started six months ago, that's when I went wrong.

-

"Adri!" My best friend, Shawn, yelled over the phone.

I groaned trying to do algebra that I kicked him out to get done.

"Did you watch PLL!" He said excitedly over the phone. I usually make him watch these girly tv shows which he pretends to hate.

"I thought you hated that-"

"I have a theory!" He ignored my comment.

"A is Adriana!! How dare you not tell me! I thought we were friends!" He fake cried.

"Shawn! I'm trying to do something" I whined stomping my feet even though he couldn't see me.

"Just let me come over and help you" he insisted.

"Fine but you have to help not just use my Netflix" he snickered and hung up. I sighed and tried to focus.

"5 more" I whispered to myself and finished the last equation.

"So if that's 2 then I have to multiply it by-"

"I'm here." Shawn announced standing in my bedroom doorway with skinny-pop in one hand and his MacBook Air in the other.

(i dont know if they have skinny-pop in america but its basically a low calorie popcorn with no butter. its really good. surprisingly.)

"Shawn!" I whined. "I thought you were gonna help me!" I said.

"I am. Here" he through a blue folder my way. Catching it in mid air I opened it to the page I was stuck on and copied down the answers.

Getting the homework off my chest I turned my spiny-chair to face Shawn who was now sitting on my bed watching Modern Family on my tv.

"So, what's up?" I asked, flopping down next to him.

"Nothing really.. all my guy friends  have girlfriends so you're all I have.." He told me. "Please don't get a boyfriend" he looked me in the eye and I laughed.

Shawn was my very best friend, we met in kindergarten after all the other girls called me a "boy" so I befriended him after convincing him I didn't have cooties.

My phone buzzed interrupting the show and I picked it off my desk.

From: Calum (yes I picture calum as calum hood dont judge)
hey, are you doing anything tomorrow?

My eyes lit up and a wide smiled spread across my face.

"What? What is it?" Shawn asked and I shook my head giggling.

"Adri." Shawn stated grabbed my phone out of my hands.

"Shaw!-"

"OoOo. Adri's gonna get layed" he sung and I slapped his bicep, which really hurt but I hid the pain.

"Stop" I whined.

"Who's Calum?" He changed the subject.

"I met him at one of Grayson's baseball games. He's cute. Like really cute" I told him.

Grayson being my 12 year old brother was the first one to notice, crushes aren't the same way they were in middle school how when one person finds out it spreads across the school and it takes up and entire afternoons worth of drama. If you liked someone the worst thing that could happen is them not liking you back.

"Does he like you back?"

"I guess I mean he volunteers at the community centre and I took Grayson to batting practice alone last week and he smiled at me and I smiled back so.."

"Sounds like true love" he told me and I rolled my eyes.

I picked up my phone and began to text him back.

To: Calum
nope, why?

I sat back and leaned on the headboard and continued to watch TV with Shawn.

From: Calum
i was wondering if you'd want to see a movie with me like as date..

I smiled widely and shawn looked at me, sighing mostly because I'd just promised him I wouldn't get a boyfriend.

To: Calum
yea that would be cool

From: Calum
pick you up at around 7?

To: Calum
see you then

I shut off my phone and looked into the distance imagining how great this would be.
