Adri's POV

Calum didn't go to our school. Ofcourse that had nothing to do with the situation I was in but he was on my mind. He lived maybe 8 minutes away from me, and he had a school right across from his house, as he told me, so that's why.

I tried my best to focus and the history lesson that was being mumbled into my ears but I couldn't.

My phone on the corner of my textbook it lit up, I tried to ignore it but I saw it was from Calum so I hesitatingly grabbed it.

"Miss Winter! Are you texting!" The teacher yelled.

"No" I lied, but it sounded more like a question.

"Hand it over" he said and I handed over my textbook. I'm usually not like this, but I'm in a mood.

"Fine, then you should enjoy this next assignment. I want an expository essay, in the form of a journal entrie of a soldier in the war of 1812. By next Thursday." As soon as he stopped talked the bell rang. I grabbed my text book of his desk and my phone which I left at mine.

I groaned grabbing my backpack out of my locker and walking outside.

"Hey Shawn" I walked up to him.

"Hey" he smiled at me. "Forgot what your face looked like" he said jokingly and I laughed lightly. "What's wrong," he asked "life." I responded and he nodded in agreement.

"How are you and Calum?"

"Fine, why?"

"Just asking" he said. For the first time in our friendship we were at a loss for words, it's been sort of awkward between us for a while but it's been getting worse.

"So wanna help me right an essay?" I asked and he shrugged. "What else am I gonna do?" He said and I smiled. We crossed the road and entered my house and walked upstairs.

"Hey Shawn" my brother greeted him, "hey man" he responded. They talked for a while before Shawn followed me upstairs. I sat at my desk, eating a granola bar I had in my bag and opening 'word'

I held my pen in my hand clicking it and trying to brainstorm on paper.

He came in and layed on my bed, "okay what is sit supposed to be about?" "A journal entrie of a solider in the war of 1811"

"Twelve" he corrected me and I threw my head back and groaned.

"Okay, okay, don't you need a name for you solider guy"

"I can't do this" I closed my laptop and flopped onto my bed next to him.

"Let's watch a movie"

"I have math" he held up a folder and I took it and threw it on the floor, "movie" I said and he rolled his eyes, "fine but when I fail all my classes and don't graduate it's gonna be your fault" he told me.

I switched on one of the older batman movies and watched it, leaned against the headboard we weren't touching but if we were it wouldn't be weird, we're friends and that's it.

"So are you and Calum, em, together?" He asked me.

"..no? I don't think, he hadn't asked me but we haven't even kissed yet so I dont think it's coming any time soon"

"But if he were to ask you would you say yes?"

"Yeah, he's really nice and funny and I really like him. Why? What's up with all the questions?"

"Nothing, nothing, just curious"
