"Tell me why we have to be here again..." Naomi complained and sighed as she sat impatiently at the airport's arrival area.
"Because our friend is finally going back home after a long trip." Ryan explained with a small smile.
"He left on his own, I'm pretty sure he doesn't need us to welcome him home." Naomi complained again.
"What's the fuss, Naomi? Why aren't you so excited about his homecoming?" Ryan asked in a serious tone.
"Don't get me wrong. I am glad that he's finally coming back home, but he's not the friend that needs me the most right now." Naomi sighed. "It's been six months, Ryan, we still don't know where he is."
"You still blame him, don't you?" Ryan asked.
"I don't blame anyone, Ryan. I'm not even angry. I'm just very frustrated. Everything was going so well between the two them, then just one day... one day that dream ended." Naomi sighed. "This is not the ending those two deserves."
"You're really rooting for them, aren't you?" Ryan said with a small smile.
Naomi sighed. "I know. It's frustrating how invested I am in their love-life, while here I am, single for years." She sighed again.
"Maybe if you start going out more and looking for a man, instead of pushing Zach and Josh together, then you would have your own fairy tale." Ryan said with a chuckle.
When the PA system sounded off and announced the arrival of the flight Ryan and Naomi was waiting for, they stood up and walked towards the arrival gate. Naomi was excited to see her friend again after six months, but still, her mind was somewhere else.
"He's here... he's back. So, where are you...?" She muttered to herself.
Amongst the crowd of arriving passengers, one man stood out. He was tall, handsome, and fit. He had this aura around him that made it difficult for anyone to approach him. Josh hadn't change at all, he still have that special skill of scaring people effortlessly.
"Welcome back." Ryan greeted Josh.
"Welcome back..." Naomi repeated in a less enthusiastic tone.
"That sure is welcoming, Naomi." Josh said.
"You still owe me an explanation, Josh." Naomi said seriously.
"I know." Josh said.
"So, how was Europe?" Ryan asked. "Did you take lots of photos for your solo exhibit?" He added.
"Well, I wanted to stay a bit longer, but an emergency came up." Josh said, he sounded really worried.
"Emergency...?" Ryan asked.
"Trouble in our family company is brewing, so I had to go home." Josh said.
"Wow... since when did you become interested in your family business? You never did once showed any signs that you want to be involved in your company." Naomi said. She was very suspicious at that moment.
"It's a matter of life and death, so..." Josh said.
"And Zach missing is not?" Naomi added in a slightly spiteful tone. "We lost all contact with him, even his parents have no idea where he is. All he left was a letter saying that he needed time alone. It's been six months, Josh. We still don't know where he is."
