"This is Zach, and starting from today, he'll be working here." Norman announced to his employees as he stood in front of them at the reception area of his photo studio. Looking around, he saw that everyone were staring at the confident looking young man on his side, wearing a pair of jeans, a pair of high-cut sneakers, white shirt, and a dog tag, with his brown hair brushed up.
"No. He can't work here." Josh, a tall young man with short black hair, and an athletic physique decisively said with sharp eyes staring right back at Zach as he held his DSLR on both of his hands.
"Josh..." Naomi sounded really exhausted. It's not like she didn't expect a rocky start, but she didn't expect Josh to act out right at the very start.
"There's no way I can work with that guy." Josh reiterated sharply, his voice made it clear that he hated the young man Norman just introduced. His eyes were like knives stabbing Zach over and over again. "Do you even know what he did to me?"
All the while, Zach had a calm expression on his face as he looked around. At one point, his eyes were set on Josh, but unlike Josh's sharp gaze filled with despise, Zach's stare was that filled with longing.
"What did he do?" Naomi asked curiously.
"That doesn't matter." Josh was quick with a reply. "The point is, I absolutely can't work with that guy."
"Josh, his employment contract is already signed, so there's no going back. Whatever issues you two have with each other personally, you better not let it get in the way of your work. Besides, I'll be assigning him with Naomi, so won't really work with him." Norman explained.
"Fine. Just don't get in my way." Josh told Zach with clear anger in his voice. "And as much as possible, stay out of my sight." He added before he stormed off to his studio.
"I'll talk to him." Naomi said, looking at Zach before going after Josh.
Norman brought Zach to his office. He sighed exhaustedly the moment he sat down at his chair.
"You look exhausted." Zach said with a chuckle.
"Whose fault do you think it is?" Norman replied as he slumped his back to his chair.
"Professor, thank for your help." Zach said as he sat down in front of Norman's desk.
"You've already graduated and you're not in my photography society anymore as well, so stop calling me Professor. Norman would do."
"No can do. You would always my professor. Since I am under your care once again, it's only right to call you Professor. Besides, it suits you."
Norman sighed. "That doesn't sound like a complement at all. So, are you okay?"
"Of course I am. Why wouldn't I be?"
"Josh just practically told you to go away. Don't tell me it doesn't affect you at all."
"Sure it does, but when I decided to do this, I already prepared myself." Zach said confidently.
He sure have changed. Norman thought as he looked at Zach. "Is that so? Do your best, then. I'll support you."
"What was that?" Naomi interrogated Josh. "Why do you hate Zach so much?"
"I can't stand that guy." Josh replied as he set up his camera.
"Can't stand him? You just met him." Naomi argued.
