VII - Such a Tease

Josh quickly retreated to his studio. If he spent a little more time there with Zach, he felt like he would've done something that he would regret. He was confused as to why seeing that cute and innocent side of Zach in person and in present made such an impact to him. He couldn't understand why it suddenly changed his perception of Zach.

It was still the same Zach, just with a different look. So why was he feeling different?

"He's gone..." Zach left out a sigh of relief. The innocence and shyness in his eyes were suddenly replaced by sheer confidence and mischievousness.

"What the hell... you were acting?" Naomi was taken aback. Zach shrugged and gave her a smile. "Hey!" She complained and hit Zach's arm. "Here I am thinking that you're finally back to..."

Zach cleared his throat and gave Naomi a meaningful look. No one else knew how Zach used to be before that traffic accident. And for the sake of making his life simple, Zach wanted it to stay that way. Things would only get more complicated if anyone else is to find out about his total change of character.

"What do you mean by he's finally back?" Ryan asked.

"Ahh... I used to dress like this all the time." Zach said. "Well, I just figured out that it would be fun to dress like the old times." He lied expertly.

"I see..." Ryan said. "Well, I like your usual getup, but this one isn't bad either."

"Well, I prefer this one." Alice said. "He's way cuter..." Alice said with a smile.

"Can you come here for a moment?" Naomi said and the pulled Zach. "What are you doing? Why the sudden change of look?"

"It's Josh's fault." Zach said. "He got drunk and told me that he would like me better if I'm like this." He complained.

Naomi sighed. "So, you're going to act all shy and innocent in front of Josh, from now on?"

"Just until I get what I want. There's no way I can act innocent and shy forever. I can't do it." Zach replied.

"And what it is that you want?" Naomi asked.

"Him." Zach replied with confidence. "At this moment, though, getting him is impossible. He said it himself, he likes the cute and innocent Zach better, but what are we going to do? That Zach is gone." Zach paused for a moment. "Everyone needs to get used to that. That Zach is not coming back." He said painfully.

"Get a hold of yourself." Josh muttered. "Weird. This is weird." He muttered.

Josh couldn't understand himself anymore. Why was he so affected? Does his past self really finds the meek and innocent Zach so cute that his heart would beat fast? And why did he find Zach so cute in the first place?

At the back of his head, Josh already knew the answer. The memories he got back from therapy was enough to give him a clue as to what his past self really felt for Zach. It's just that, Josh couldn't fully accept that fact that he even refused to think about it.

There was a nagging feeling inside of Josh that was saying that if he lay his eyes on Zach, looking all innocent and meek, once again, that he would lose control. So, there was only one solution for him; to shut himself inside his studio all over again.

It was really weird for Naomi to see the looks of the innocent and shy Zach in front of her while he acts care-free and confident. "I can't take this anymore." Naomi said as he stepped away from her camera and stopped taking sample shots. "This is just too weird." Naomi said and shot Zach an intent look.
