XIX - When You Wake Up

Josh and Zach had visited Perfection a few times in the past. Zach seemed to really like the café, that's why Josh brought him there, in hope that Zach's love for Perfection's chocolate would help in making him come out.

Although they had been there before, it was the first Josh saw the man who offered them a custom made chocolate, it was also the first time that they would meet the legendary chocolatier of the café.

"You know, we could've covered more grounds with your study with the time we're wasting here." Zander complained as they waited inside the back office of Perfection.

"This is rare opportunity. So, just wait patiently." Josh told Zander.

"Yeah... whatever..." Zander replied.

The door opened and two men walked in. "You got to stop doing this. You can't just go around offering custom made chocolates to people you deem worthy." The man in the chef's robe complained. He was shorter than the other man, but his skin was paler. Both of them looked really handsome.

He must be the chocolatier. Josh thought.

"Your chocolate moves the heart. It's a gift, we should share it." The man who invited Josh and Zander inside replied with a dashing smile.

"Hey, we're already sharing it. We sell tons of chocolates every single day. What more do you want?" The chocolatier complained.

"Do it for me, please?" The other man pleaded the chocolatier. He was looking at him as they held hands.

"We've together for long. Acting cute doesn't really work on me anymore." The chocolatier said.

"Then, what if I promise you this..." The man said and then whispered something to the chocolatier's ear.

"Hey..." The chocolatier blushed and then pushed the man away. "That's embarrassing..."

"You don't want it...?"

"I do." The chocolatier replied coyly.

"Wow... they're flirting in public..." Zander said under his breath with a frown. "Humans are shallow..."

"Stop speaking like that, people might think that Zach is weird." Josh said.

"Sorry, for making you wait. By the way, my name is Lance Wolfe, I'm in charge of business development of Perfection. And this..." Lance said. "...Is the creator of Perfection, our chocolatier, Vincent Cromwell, also..." Lance said and then took Vincent's hand and held it tight. Their fingers locked together. "...He is my husband." Lance said proudly.

"Husband...?" Zander repeated, sounding really surprised.

"Yes." Lance replied proudly.

"Nice to meet you." Vincent said and then shook hands with Josh and Zander. "Then, shall we begin?" He asked as he sat down. "This might be weird for you, but I make chocolates for people kind of differently. I make chocolates based on what I know and I feel about the person I am making it for. Also, if you want to convey a feeling to someone, I can make a chocolate that person exactly what you feel after eating it."

"Really? That sounds interesting." Josh replied with a smile.

"So, who do you want to give the chocolates to?" Lance asked.
