Chapter 9

"Put me down!" I yelled, slapping Hunter on the back numerous times, trying to get him annoyed so he could let go. I was currently thrown over Hunters shoulder as he carried me towards the pool out back. He told me that he was going to teach me how to swim, but the thing was, I didn't want to learn. I didn't care for swimming and I certainly did not trust Hunter to give me lessons.

"I'll put you down when we get into the pool!"

"No Hunter! I don't need lessons."

Ignoring me, he began to walk into the pool with his shorts still on while I had my clothes on as well. We walked deeper in before Hunter let me down, and I clung to him like a wet cat.

"You can touch the bottom dumb ass," he said, rolling his eyes as I felt around with my feet for the bottom. Realizing he was right, I narrowed my eyes while crossing my arms. "Now," he started, clapping his wet hands together, causing water to spray my face. "Let's start off with doggy paddle."

He showed me how to doggy paddle from where we were to the stairs, and I followed him. It was pretty simple, but then he told me to doggy paddle from the stairs, to the other side of the pool. Problem was, I'd have to go to the deep end, and I wasn't ready for that!

"Don't worry, I'll be right next to you," he smiled, getting a heads start. I let out a frustrated sigh as my clothes clung to me, causing me to move uncomfortably.

"I hate you," I muttered, following him. I groaned out when I looked down to see the deep end was coming close. Hunter stayed close to my side like he said, and I closed my eyes when we were right over the deep end.

"Hunter," I whined, coughing when a loud of water filled my mouth. He took my hand in his, keeping me above the water, continuing to pull me along. We finally touched the other side and I took deep breaths as delicious air filled my lungs.

"Now you need to learn how to defend yourself," Hunter informed after he had taught me to swim faster and float above the deep areas. I arched an eyebrow when he pulled me out of the pool and walked over to the table. He took a rope which had a heavy rock attached, and I backed away with my hands out in front of me.

"We need to tie this around you ankle and see if you could get out of it," he said, ready to tie the rope around my foot before I pushed him back.

"No way! What if I drown?"

"I'll save you before you do," he shrugged, wrapped the rope around my ankle, and tying a tight knot. He picked up the rock and was ready to throw it in when I stopped him quickly.

"Why do we need to do this?"

"Incase a member of the gang tries to drown you," he sighed, running a hand through his hair. When I was ready, he threw the rock in after I took a deep intake of air, and fell into the water again.

When I sunk to the bottom, I didn't know what to do from there. My heart race was distracting me as it beat faster and faster. Maybe this was just a way of getting rid if me. Maybe Hunter meant to drown me like this.

I was going to prove him wrong, so I reached down and started to pull against the ends, trying to get the tight knot to loosen. After struggling and struggling, the knot finally came loose, and I pushed myself up by my feet, and breathed in deeply when I reached the top. Hunter quickly pulled me out with a grin, and set me to the side, wrapping a towel around me.

"Great job Zoe," he smiled, sitting next to me and resting his hands on his knees. "You pasted the first test!"

I laughed while patting his back, and pushing him back into the pool with all the force I had. When he reached the serface, I was running in the other direction towards the trampoline. From there, I jumped in and hid in the shadows as he jumped from the pool, and ran down the porch stairs.

"Zoe," he called in a sing-song tone. "Come out, come out wherever you are!" I giggled quietly as he walked by the trampoline, not even noticing me. I crawled to the edge and watched as he looked around, so I jumped to the ground, and ran to jump on his back, knocking his large body down to te ground.

I laughed as I sat on top of him, and he joined in. When our laughter died down, he brushed my hair behind my ear that hung in his face.

"Be honest," he began, causing me to get nervous. Something in my stomach flipped as he looked into my eyes. "How are your feelings about this gang shit? Are you scared?"

I shook my head, leaning down closer to rest my cheek against his chest. "I am a little scared, but I know you won't let anything happen to me."

He flipped me over to pin me against the ground, throwing my wrists above my head. "Are you scared of me?" he whispered, leaning down to whisper it in my ear, and I breathed deeply.

"Not at all," I smiled, arching my lower half into him, causing a growl to run through his chest. My hands ran across his back as my nails scratched against his bare skin. They moved toward his chest and I dug deep into his burning skin.

Hunters lips grazed across my neck and I groaned, pushing his head deeper into my neck. I continued to grind against him and he pushed against my waist to get me to stop.

"If you keep doing that Sunshine you will be sorry."

I didn't care. All of this felt so good, and all I wanted was more! More of Hunter and his amazing talent with kissing.

"Hey love birds!" a familiar voice echoed.
