Chapter 27
Zoe's POV.I gave my boyfriend a shocked expression. My eyes blinked on their own as my mouth fell open, almost hitting the floor. He can't be serious. He doesn't even have a ring! Maybe he was planning on asking me later on and didn't buy the ring yet. But I was still only seventeen going on eighteen. I'm going to have to get used to being an adult and I can't marry so quickly. Especially to a man who kept secrets and lied to me. Who knows, there could be more secrets on the way. But, Hunter is an amazing boyfriend and I know he won't let me get hurt, and if I do, he'll risk his life to make me better.
This was such a hard decision...
"No, Hunter," was my answer as I backed away slowly, reaching behind me to pull the door handle down. Hunter stayed in his position on one knee with a shocked and hurt expression.
As I escaped into the night, I turned around and began to run down the sidewalk, quickly pulling out my phone. I scanned through my contacts and decided to not tell my brothers just yet because I knew they would kill Hunter. So I stopped on Casey's number and instantly called her.
"Hey, I can explain-"
"Casey," I squeaked, ignoring what she was about to say. I know she had Tyler in her pants and at this point, I really didn't care. I just needed her right now.
"Zoe, what's wrong sweet heart?" She sounded concerned and slightly angry.
"Can you and Tyler come pick me up?"
"Sure- wait how did you know-"
"Casey I'm your best friend, I know everything," I slightly laughed, stopping to sit on a cute wooden bench.
Casey laughed before replying, "where are you honey?"
"I'm still on our street but I'm on a bench on the side of the road."
"Okay, we're leaving right now." I heard a door slam in the background. "We'll find you."
"Thanks Casey." I ended the call and looked at the palm of my hands. Nothing was the same anymore. Hunter had lost my trust and he even had the nerve to propose to me. He thought that he could ask me to be his bride and everything would be better. No Hunter. You lied to me.
"I know," a sad voice said and I looked up to see Hunter, running a finger through his messy hair. Then, I realized I had said all of that out loud and instantly blushed. "And I wish I can go back in time and stop myself from doing any of that just so I can have your trust."
"Just let me have some time to think alone," I sighed, rubbing my face and squeezing the roots of my hair on my scalp.
"Zoe, you're carrying my child and you want me to let you be by yourself for a while?" he asked dumbfounded.
He did have a point. But if he wanted this relationship to work, I had to have some time to think. At least a week at the most! I'll go to the doctors when I'm suppose to and I'll be able to handle myself just fine. Besides I'll have Casey right beside me being the protective best friend I need right now.
"Get away from her!" Speak of the devil. "I can't believe you've gone this far Hunter! Zoe would never leave you! What on earth did you do to make her leave?" Hunter opened his mouth to speak but Casey cut him off. "Save it! Lets go sweet heart." She dragged me towards Tyler's car where Tyler was sitting in the drivers seat with one arm hanging out the window. He stared at his brother while they communicated with their eyes before he pealed out, and zoomed towards his house wherever that was.
