Chapter 7

You know the sound a bottle makes when you're trying to get the last drop out? Well that's what I've been hearing for the past ten minutes. I convinced Rick to let me take home a few bottles of honey so I could get back at Hunter. He agreed and now I am here, pouring honey all over his bed. It's a good thing that Hunter takes long showers.

I had managed to get the marker off with a lot of soap. The bath tub was also stained with my foundation as well.

The bathroom door opened so I quickly threw away the empty honey bottle and jumped into his messy closet. I watched as he walked into the room in only boxers and no shirt. I shook my head of any thoughts that started to form in my head.

I held in my laugh as Hunter flopped down on his chest in bed with a huff. Once he realized that he was lying in honey, he jolted up, trying to wipe away the sticky mess.

"ZOE!" he yelled, obviously furious. I walked from the closet laughing my butt off.

"That's for drawing on my face with marker!"

"You better learn how to sleep with your eyes open Landerson," he growled, trying his best to wipe away the honey but failing at the attempt. "Give me a hug," he suddenly smirked, coming towards me with open arms.

"Stay away from me!" I demanded, throwing my hands out in front of me.

"No come here," he said trying to snatch me up but missing as I dodged it and ran into the hall. He made no struggle to run after me and down the stairs, finally catching up and wrapping me in his embrace. I screamed as I felt the sticky substance tangle in my hair and stick to my clothes.

"Wow there," a voice chuckled. We turned to the door to find Chris, Tristen, Ryan and Mark, standing in the doorway. "Didn't mean to interrupt," Tristen said. Pushing Hunter away, I looked down at myself to find I was now covered in honey as well.

"You weren't interrupting anything," I corrected, turning back to go upstairs and take a shower.

"The shower's mine sunshine," Hunter said but I ignored him and continued upstairs.

"I'm not waiting any longer to tell her," Mark's voice was heard. I was currently sitting on the stairs, drying the rest of my hair with the towel while ease dropping on their conversation. It was pretty intense, like a reality TV show.

"She can't know that yet!" Hunter snapped. "It would make her so confused!"

"I'm telling her," Ryan growled, danger filling his tone. I took this moment to run down the stairs before a fight broke loose. Attention was on me as I stood there with my wet hair, soaking my shirt.

"I know you heard all that," Hunter groaned, standing up and rubbing his hands with his face. "Go ahead and tell her!"

Mark stood up and came closer to me, causing me to arch an eyebrow. "Zoe, Ryan and I have the same last name as you."

"Just say it," Ryan said, standing up and walking over next to Mark. "Mark and I are your brothers."

My eyes widened as I stepped back, now knowing why they look so familiar. Wow I should have thought of that before!

"Our parents were jerks, and you weren't a mistake," Mark began. "Once I turned old enough, I took Ryan and left, moving in a small apartment, and heard they had you. I wanted to come back and take you with us, but you were just a baby at the time and I couldn't get you involved with the-"

"Mark!" Hunter interrupted, leaning off the wall he had been standing against.

"Sorry Hunter," Mark apologized, before he continued. "Once I heard you were staying with this dip shit, I came here as soon as possible to tell you. But Hunter didn't want to risk telling you this because he was afraid it would reveal his secret."

I turned to Hunter, an angry expression growing on my face. "You kept this from me?" I yelled. "That's so low! I have two brothers and you decided to keep that from me?"

"Zoe-"

As he tried to apologize, a thought ran through my mind. If Hunter knew Mark and Ryan, and they were my brothers, Hunter must have known about my parents being evil! Why did he pretend I was a rich, spoiled girl?

"Hunter," I began. "If you knew this whole time that they were my brothers and obviously know about my parents, then why did you keep acting like I was a spoiled brat?"

"Because, I wanted you to admit yourself to me and not be shy to tell me the truth," he smiled, actually giving me a real smile. Everything began to make sense now and I quickly wrapped myself in Mark and Ryan's arms, feeling the warmth surround us.

That night, I tossed and turned in my bed, not being able to sleep at all. I felt eyes watching me for some reason, and when you feel like that when you're trying to sleep, it gets pretty hard to close your eyes. My mind soon drifted back to another flash back of Luis and I when I got scared one night from being home alone.

I hid under my comforter, hearing creaks and thumps around me. I quickly found my courage and reached over to turn on my light, finding my room was empty, but that didn't mean someone else could have been in the house.

I snatched my phone and dialed Luis's number with my shaky hand. Once I found his contact, I tapped call and held the phone to my ear. It rang about five times before he answered, his voice sounded tired and worn out.

"Zoe baby, what's wrong?"

"I'm scared," I whined, hearing another thump to find out it was only my heart beat. He chuckled as I heard ruffling in the background before I heard his bed creek.

"I'll be there soon."

About five minutes later he was climbing through my window like a prince, coming to the rescue. I smiled as he slowly climbed into bed next to me, pulling me close to him. His lips pressed gently against mine and I fell into him. He was incredible I had to admit. That was why we were so perfect together.

A loud boom of thunder outside caused me to knock on the wall that separated mine and Hunter's room. "HUNTER!" I called, knowing that woke him up. My door burst open and Hunter stood there with his eyes wide, and his hair messy.

"What, what's wrong?"

"Uh, do you maybe want to stay in here for the night?" I ask, stuttering just a bit.

A small smirk tugged at his lips as he began to walk over to the bed, but I pushed against his chest. "The floor," I hissed in a duh tone.

He rolled his eyes and sat down on the floor, falling on his back and disappearing. I snuggled down under my blankets, resting the side of my face on my pillow. Another loud crash outside boomed and I became even more scared, so I jumped down and landed right on top of Hunter. He grunted when I hit his abs, my muscles feeling sore from the force.

His arms snaked around my waist, pulling me closer against him. I was about to get up when a ball of lightning struck through the window, lighting the whole room, scaring me half to death. I let out a yelp, falling into his chest, burrying my face into his shirt.

Hunter slid me over next to him and pulled the blanket down to cover our bodies. More crashes of thunder broke the silence and I scooted closer to Hunter, not wanting to listen to it anymore. He laughed and smiled, pulling me closer before I drifted into sleep.

Buzz, buzz, buzz, buzz. The alarm clock woke me from my sleep, and I found Hunter was gone, leaving me to be wrapped in the blankets by myself. I stood to shut off the alarm, and walked into the bathroom to take a quick shower and get to work.

When I stepped from the shower, I had realized I forgot to bring in clothes and peeked out into the hallway to find no site of Hunter, so I quickly dashed into my bedroom and shut the door behind me. I faced my bed and dropped the towel, throwing on my bra and panties then my shirt and shorts.

I grabbed my phone and walked back into the hall, hopping down the stairs to find Hunter no where in site. I raised and eyebrow, but shrugged it off, knowing I had to get to work.
