Chapter 3; Whatever is left of warped

Maria's P.O.V. 

Pierce The Veils set was about to end sadly. "This last song goes out to everyone who has ever physically harmed themselves in anyway or even thought about it." Vic said as they started to play How On Till May. About half-way through the song someone bumped into me. "I'm so sorry! I wasn't watching where I was going." They apologized. It was Jack. He dropped my phone. He went to go pick it up. "Hi Jack." I said smiling. He popped up and winked at me as he handed me my phone, trying to be smooth.

He was so adorable. I started to giggle at him. He gave me a big grin which made me laugh even harder.

"What is so funny?" He asked.

"You!" I said trying to breathe. "She laughs when she sees something adorable. You're gonna have to get used to that." Haley explained. "So I'm adorable? Thank you." He said. I started laughing again and I held onto Jacks arm and squeezed it.

I laid my head on his shoulder. Pierce The Veils set ended and Tonight Alive came on stage. They started playing Safe & Sound. One of my favorite songs by them. This was perfect. Almost dream-like. Jack took my hand and spun me around. "Care to dance?" He asked smiling. 

I grinned and he put his other hand on my hip and we started dancing. Jack started lip-syncing the lyrics. I threw my head back laughing like a little kid. We started jumping around like little kids lip-syncing the words together. I couldn't stop laughing. He kept spinning me around. We met each others eyes. He Grinned. He spun me around one last time and then started to actually sing. "I think I'm falling in love with you." I couldn't stop smiling. He held me close.

He started to lean in. Next thing I know we're kissing. I pulled away. We just stared at each other. He held my chin up and smiled real big. I took his hand off my face. His smile turned into a frown. "What.. did I do something?" He asked. I shook my head and started to walk away. What. Just. Happened. I started running. To where you ask? I have no fucking clue. I stopped to catch my breath and took out my phone. 

Missed call.. from Jake. What. I clicked call. It rang once. "Hello?" I said. "HEY BITCH. WHERE YOU AT IMA PICK YO ASS UP RIGHT NOW HAVING PEOPLE THREATEN ME IMA FUCK YOU UP" Jake screamed into the phone. "What?" I asked. "I didn't have anyone threa-. Jack had my phone. Did Jack call you?!" "Yeah dat nigga called me up and said all kinds of things. You better not be cheatin on me with dis foo'." He said. "I didn't have him call you I swear Jake, I let him use my phone. I didn't even tell him about you." I explained. 

"I said where are you?!" He screamed again. "Warped." I sighed. I was really gonna get it.. "Bitch I told you not to go dere. We have plans tonight. We're leavin to come get you right now so be ready." He demanded. "Okay, bye." I started crying as I hung up. I texted Haley that Jake was coming and I was really gonna get it. 

Jack's P.O.V.

I held Maria's chin up and smiled real big. We sat there like that for a moment but then she took my hand off her face. I frowned. "What.. did I do something?" I asked.

Fuck, I messed up. I shouldn't have kissed her.

She just shook her head and started to walk away. I went to go grab her but Haley smacked my hand. "Her boyfriend may be a douche but you can't go kiss her like that." I felt so bad. "I'm sorry. I just got lost in the moment, everything was just so perfect." I face palmed myself. I feel so stupid. "You shouldn't be apologizing to me.." She said. 

Her phone went off. She took it out and looked up at me with a worried expression. "What?" I asked. "Jake.. Maria just texted me and said Jake is coming to pick her up and she's gonna get it." She explained. "Where is she!?" I yelled.

"I don't know!" She said. We both started running, searching like wild animals. We ran into Vic. "VIC MARIA'S BOYFRIEND IS COMING TO GET HER." I screamed. I was crying now. His eyes grew wide and we all started running again. We saw Alex talking to Kellin. Haley ran over there and told them. 

I looked quickly behind me and Alex, Austin Carlile, Justin Hills and Kellin were following us. "There she is!" Haley shouted. "And there's Jake walking towards her." I ran as fast as I could.

I felt like Forest Gump in this exact moment.

He slapped her across the face. She fell to the ground. Mother fucker. I pushed Jake back. "I told you to leave her alone." I said. Haley and Vic helped her up. She held onto Vic. "I'll fuck you up bro." He threatened. "I dare you." I challenged. "Jack don't." Maria said. I looked over at her and Jake punched me in the face. Next thing I know Alex, Austin, Justin and Kellin start running at him. Maria ran over to me and put her hand on my face. "I'm so sorry." She whispered. 

"It's nothing." I said. They had him on the ground. Maria walked over there. "Okay! That's enough you guys. stop please!" She yelled. Everyone stopped. I walked up behind Maria. "Fucking bitch" Jake said as he spit out blood. He stood up and walked back to his car and drove away. Maria turned around and looked at me. She put her face into her hands. I wrapped my arms around her. Soon enough everyone joined in for a group hug. Everyone let go after a minute or so. "C'mon, we're gonna go get some food." I said. 

I took her hand and started walking. "What about Haley's car?" I asked. "You guys can take her car if you want." Alex said. Maria looked over to Haley. "Is the bus gonna be crowded?" Haley asked. "Not really, it's just gonna be me, Alex, Zack, Rian then you guys if you come." I explained.

Maria clinged onto my arm. "We'll come with you guys I guess." Haley said. Alex and Haley started talking. Me and Maria were ahead of them. "Maria.." I said. She looked up at me. "Yeah?" She asked. "Life's too awesome to waste your time thinking about someone who doesn't treat you right. So don't think about it. He deserved it and you know it." I explained to her. 

She smiled at me. I knocked on the bus doors and the bus driver opened it. We all got on and started driving to burger king. The food at Warped is simply too expensive. 

                                                         - about an hour later - 

Maria's P.O.V. 

Warped was over for Baltimore sadly. Jack and Alex walked us to Haley's car. Me and Jack didn't say a word to each other. Although Alex and Haley were behind us talking away. I guess they were good at this kind thing. Leaving the person you love and not seeing them for the longest time. Well, Haley I could see how she's used to that.

Her dad left when she was only 12. Alex, well he goes on tours all the time leaving his family behind. I mean c'mon we can all tell they like each other. Jack should be good at this but he looked upset more than ever. We were holding hands. listening to Safe & Sound on my phone. We finally got to the car. We had been walking for what seemed like forever.

Alex walked Haley to the drivers seat and Jack walked me to the passenger seat. I frowned.

"What's wrong?" He asked. "I'm gonna miss you guys. I'm gonna miss Warped." I admitted. "I promise we'll come next year, if not we'll come visit you whenever we're in town." He said. He opened the car door for me and then gave me a hug bye. Then we drove away.
