Chapter 6; Bye Bye

Jack's P.O.V. 

"Will you be my girlfriend?" I asked. She turned her head and looked at me like this; 

When I thought she'd probably turn around like this;

But she's not like that. She's different. 

Maria's P.O.V. 

"Will you be my girlfriend?" Jack asked. I looked at him. What. I can't even. What. This must be a dream. I swear if we weren't in the car right now I'd be like dancing or something.

But I was calm. On the outside at least. I should've seen this coming honestly. But I didn't because he's Jack Barakat and I have no idea why he'd want to go out with me. He really deserves someone much better. Jack started rubbing my back. "You're not breathing again." He said. I took a deep breath. He just smiled at me the entire time.

I've made up my mind. "..Sorry. No." I said, mentally face-palming myself right now. "What? Why?" He frowned.

"Because.. if Jake found out, or any of his friends they'd beat the shit out of you and me and just cause problems all the time.. I don't want you to get hurt.. or anyone matter in fact. You really don't know what he's capable of." I explained.

Oh how I hated myself for this. He looked onto the road as he took a deep breath. "You need to stop thinking about him. He wont hurt me, you or anyone. I wont let him." He said. I sighed. "Just.. give me some time." I said.

I parked the car and we both got out. We walked over to Haley's car. "Finally, I'm starving." Zack complained. We all walked inside. "Hi how can I help you?" The lady asked. We're gonna call her Tracey. "Table for six." Alex replied. "Right this way." She directed us towards a table, only seated for four. She then pushed another table towards, making room for all of us. Jack pulled my chair out for me. I kinda giggled to myself.

"What a gentleman you have." Tracey said as she set down menus. I felt the heat go to my cheeks. "Uh we're not exactly dating.." I said. "oh I'm sorry. I just thought you two would make a perfect couple." She said walking away.

Jack smiled at me. I opened my menu looking for something to eat but nothing interested me. I wasn't even that hungry. "What are you gonna get?" Jack asked. "I don't know. I'm not exactly that hungry." I said. "Why don't we all just get a family size pizza?" Alex suggested. 

"Sounds good to me." Rian said. "And a pitcher of water?" Alex said. "That's fine." Zack said. "Alright then we're ready." Alex said. 

-skipping the rest because it's just them eating and blah nothing exciting-

We all started walking to the parking lot. I went to slowly grab Jack hand until I realized they have to go to the airport now and leave. My heart stopped for a mid-second and I quickly grabbed his hand. 

I stopped breathing knowing if I did I'd completely break down. My heart started beating faster and you could feel the pulse in my arms. Jack looked at me with a worried expression.  "What's wrong?" He asked. I looked at him and shook my head. "You're not breathing." He tried to let go of my hand to rub my back but I wouldn't let go. He pulled me closer to him. "Breathe. It's okay." He whispered. I felt the tears coming, I tried to blink them away but it wasn't working. 

I let go of his hand and covered my mouth. Jack stopped in his tracks, everyone else noticing. I held myself together long enough for me to make an excuse.

"I forgot something. Jack come with me." He nodded and pulled me close, wrapping one arm around me. We walked back into the place. Just the door way though. "What's wrong?" He frantically searched my face with his eyes. I hugged him tight and let everything out. I felt my knees get weak but Jack hugged me back in time so I wouldn't fall. 

He smoothed my hair, cooing to me. I finally calmed down somewhat. He grabbed my hand and we started walking back. "Did you find it?" Alex asked. "Yeah.." I replied. I took a deep breath in it came out shaky. "You okay?" Alex asked. Jack looked at him and shook his head. Me and Jack got to my car. "Let me drive." He said. I handed him the keys and we got in the car.

The whole ride back to my apartment was silent. We all got out of our cars. I gave Rian, zack and Alex a hug bye. I got to Jack and frowned. He pulled me in for a tight hug. I buried my head into his chest. The driver beeped the horn. I looked up at Jack and he gave me a kiss and walked onto the bus and then the bus drove away. I started to tear up. "Are you okay?" Haley asked. I nodded. "I've never seen you cry so much before..." She said giving me a hug.

"Do you want me to stay with you tonight?" She asked letting go. "No, I need some time to myself." I lied. "You sure?" She asked. "Yeah." I gave her a fake smile. "I'll text you later okay?" I said. "Alright. Bye." She said. "Bye, be safe." I said walking up the stairs. My door was open.. I walked in slowly. "Hello?" I asked. I kept the door open in case I need to run out. I looked in the kitchen, no one. Living room no one. I walked into the bathroom and some guy popped out. "AHHHH" I screamed.

I ran into my bedroom and found Jake with a knife. "Fuck." I said to myself backing out.

I bumped into the other dude and turned around. "You're gonna get it now." Jake said. He pulled me from behind back into my room. His friend followed. Jake turned me around and played with his knife.. I looked around aimlessly hoping someone would barge in or something. I looked back at Jake and our eyes met. He put his knife in his back pocket and him and his friend ripped my shirt off. 

I fell to the ground and covered myself. This isn't happening. He picked me up by my throat and threw me back onto the ground. I hit my head on my night stand. I just laid there. There was no point in trying to get away. He wasn't going to stop. He ran his knife up my wrists. "Didn't I tell you to stop this bullshit?" He yelled. "I don't wanna be with some emo chick who cuts herself." He complained. "Then why are you?" I asked. "You're a bitch." He said. I went to say something but, I passed out.
