Chapter 11: You Were My Anchor

Alex's P.O.V. 

"Where are we going?" Maria groaned. "Home." I stated pulling out of the parking lot. 

By home I meant back to her apartment. I don't want her to go through this. She'd already been through so much. Jack was in the back soothing her.

Something he was good at. He could make anyone feel better. I parked the car and got out. Maria and Jack followed. 

I was gonna give her, her keys back but she'd probably try to leave and go to her parents. We all walked in and got confused looks. "What happened?" Haley asked running up to me. I shook my head signally for her to not ask. She walked to Maria.

"You okay?" She asked. She nodded. We all sat down on the couch. 

Maria squirmed away from Jacks hold. "Me and Rian gotta get going." Zack said interrupting the silence. "Peace." I said.

"Bye!" Jack shouted. They got up with their bags and left. Haley's phone started to ring. "Hello?" She asked as she walked out of the room. I crossed my legs. 

"I'm sorry." I mumbled. Maria looked at me. "For what?" She asked. "For dragging you out of the house to the hospital just to find out she wasn't there.." I continued.

"Maria I want you to stay with me or Jack for awhile." I stated. "What why?" She asked. "I can handle myself." 

"I know, I just want to make sure you're safe.." I trailed off. I began to twirl my hair. I was exhausted. The day barely even begun and I was ready for a nap. 

Her eyes-widened. "If this about me cutting." She stood up. "No matter how bad I might want to I can't because I lost my blade and I can't use knives so I'm fine Alex." She croaked.

"No no that's no-" 

"Save it Gaskarth." She stormed off to her room. Jack looked at me.

"You're tired." He stated. "No shit." I responded. "I'll take you home and I'll keep Maria for now." He said. I nodded as I stood up. "Leave her alone for now." Jack ordered.

"She's just over-whelmed. She needs time to herself." 

I've never heard Jack sound so.. well smart. I plopped back down on the couch and Haley walked back in. "I gotta go you guys." She explained.

"Boss just called me I have to fill in for some whore." She groaned. I gave her a hug. "Have fun." I slurred. She smiled. "Go to bed Lex." She giggled.

"Bye Jack." She gave him a hugged from over the couch. "Bye Haley." He smiled. 

That was the last thing I remembered before I passed out. 

Maria's P.O.V. 

My eyes grew big. "If this is about me cutting-" I stood up, "No matter how bad I might want to I can't because I lost my blade and I can't use knives so I'm fine Alex." I croaked. "No no that's no-" 

"Save it Gaskarth." I stormed off into my room.

I can't believe he doesn't trust me. I've been clean for almost a week, isn't that good enough? I started to cry. I buried my head into my knees. I heard my door open and shut.

I quickly looked up to see who it was. It was Haley. "Hey.. I gotta go fill a shift for some bitch. If you need me just call okay?" She said.

I nodded and she walked out of the room. I sighed as I stood up.

I walked over to my dresser and pulled out some clothes. I quickly brushed through my hair, put my beanie on and got dressed. I took a deep breath as I opened my bedroom door and walked out.
