Chapter 14: Party

Maria's P.O.V.

I quickly kissed Jacks cheek then ran off to find Alex. I started walking down the large section of cash registers looking for him. I got to the last one, and of course that's where he was. "Aleexx did you buy the oreos?" I asked poking his shoulder. "Pfft no." 

"You dick!" I replied. I crossed my arms and walked to the car. "Here.. you can have one of my malonaos." He said with a mouth full of malonaos. "Fine." I took one out of the bag and ate it.

He smiled then pulled out of the parking lot. "Did you talk to Jack?" He asked. "Well yeah, nothing important." I explained. 

"I'm sorry.. he's usually not like this. I don't know wha-" 
I cut him off."Alex, it's fine. Sometimes people just need time to themselves to relax and decompress. I get it." 

He shook his head. "But Jack never does.. He's always happy and excited.." Alex started to rub his head.

"Which gives him all the more reason to need some time to himself. It sucks trying to be happy all the time and trying to make everyone else happy and laugh. Trust me." I mumbled the last part.

He just nodded. The rest of the car ride was silent. Not an awkward silent but not a good silent. 

You could probably cut the tension with a knife. As soon as he parked the car I opened the door and got out. I slammed the door on accident. I cringed. Alex rose his eyebrows. "I'm sorry. I was moving too fast." I apologized. 

We walked into the house, straight to the kitchen to be exact. Alex and Rian un-packed all the groceries while I watched t.v.

"Hey someone remind me to get the pizza in 20." Rian called as he helped himself to the seat next to me. "Is this what you do everyday?" I asked.

"Not exactly, sometimes we get drunk." Rian explained.

We all laughed. "I'm bored can we go do something?" I asked. 

"Like what?" Alex asked. "I dunno, go to a park or something.." I sugguested. He nodded. "I think I'm gonna stay here, Cassade's stopping by soon." Rian said. I frowned. "Lameee." I stuck my tongue out at him. 

"Welp, if you get bored to know where we'll be." I said skipping out the door. Alex followed and we started walking. "Have you ever been to the park over here before?" Alex asked. I shook my head. "We used to hang out here all the time." He smiled. 

"What's there to do?" I asked. "Um, there's monkey bars, there's a swing set, one of those spinny things, ya know the usual." He explained.

I nodded as we started to head down a hill. "So why'd you really wanna come down here?" He asked. 

"I don't know, just to hang out." I lied. He looked at me in disbelief. "Okay, I wanted to talk.." I admitted. He entwined our fingers. "About.."

I shrugged. "Stuff." I said. "C'mon just spill." He groaned. "What are we supposed to do about my parents. More importantly my mom.." I asked quietly.

"Well I guess we'll be having a fune-"

I cut him off. "She wanted to be cremated." I stated. He nodded. "We can do that too." He said as he squeezed my hand. "Then your dad.. I guess he'd be going to jail.." He explained.

I nodded. "Maybe we should go back to their house.. see what's happened, or are they gonna call us?" I asked. "I'll call today and find out what's happening.." He stated. I nodded. "Then there's Jack.." I said slumly.

"I thought we went through this?" He asked. "We did.. but I dunno." I said as I looked to the ground. "Hey, we're going on tour we're think about going on tour with Pierce the Veil next Spring.. it's not official yet but say it is, would you want to come?" He asked.

"That'd be cool but what about my apartment.. My collage more importantly." I said. He looked at me. "You're apartment I can pay off if you really want. But your collage is a different story." He said.

"What kind of collage are we talking about?" He asked. "Online.." I explained. "Well then it's perfect you can bring your laptop or something." He said excitedly. "But I don't think I'd ever have enough time.."

"Nah, while we're on the rode there isn't much to do so you can always do that. Or if you really want you could take a break. I mean the tour is only a month long." He explained.

I nodded. "I'll think about it."

"Do you still want to go to the park?" He asked. "Eh, not really." I said. He groaned. "We walked all the way over here for nothing." He said turning around. "Sorry." I laughed.

"By the way, we're having a party tonight." He said. "What?" I asked. "Yes so get dressed up and whatnot." He ordered. I groaned. "That takes effort and I want a nap." I said. He laughed a little. 

"You can always take a quick nap. Party doesn't start till 8, it's only four." He explained. "Yaay!" I shouted. A few minutes passed as we talked about pointless things then we arrived back at the house. I ran upstairs and into the room I was staying in. 

I opened some drawers and found a nice dress to wear and what not. I figured I'd find the rest of the clothes later. After that I hopped into bed and took a nap. 

I woke up around 6:50 p.m. Just about enough time for me to get ready. I walked to my dresser and got dressed then took my time and did my hair. Once I was done it was 7:26. 

Since I had time to spare I took my time and did my make-up, meaning it took me just about ten minutes and it was now 7:38. I was dressed in this; polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=81449593 I walked back down stairs.

"Wow" I heard somebody call from behind. I turned around to find Alex. "Someone looks hot." He stated. "Thanks." I smiled. "Here come help me set up the streamers and shit." He said. I nodded and pulled a chair over and began to hang streamers. 

It took us only about 5 minutes to hang up all the streamers. I sat down on the couch and started to blow up black and white balloons. People started to arrive. Cassadee walked in with a few other people. I greeted her and found out the people with her are in her band, Alex, Patrick, Chris and Mike. 

We all just mingled, occasionally dancing, playing drinking games. Then Jack walked in. I stood up and walked over to Alex. "Jack is here..?" I said more so asked. "Yeah. Why wouldn't he be?" Alex asked. I shrugged. I walked back to the couch and sat down. 

Jack sat next to me. "Hi." He greeted me.  

"Fancy seeing you here." I joked. He smiled. "Come here often?" He asked. 

We laughed. We talked for a while, then Safe & Sound by Tonight Alive came on. He gave me a huge grin and grabbed my hand in his. He pulled me from the couch and we started to slow dance like how we did at Warped. 

I laughed as he started to sing to me, "I'm falling in, I think I'm falling in love with you." 

I smiled as I buried my head into his chest. He smelled of alchol, but I didn't care. He held me tight. "I love you." He whispered into my ear as he stroked my hair. "I love you too." I whispered back. He pulled away a little and placed his lips on mine. I kissed back almost instantly. Our lips moved in sync. This moment was perfect. 

I wanted to stay like this forever. I finally pulled away in need of air. He gave me a huge grin, making me blush. "I'll be right back, I'm gonna go get us some drinks." He said. I sat back down on the couch as he walked away.
