Chapter 10; Hospital

Maria's P.O.V. 

I almost fell over laughing. "Jack water you doing?" I asked in between laughs. 

"Nothin' much just twerkin'." He replied. I fell over laughing. Eventually he stopped and walked over to me. "Are you okay?" He asked laughing as he helped me up. "Yeah. Oh my gosh that was hilarious. What a work out." I wiped the tears from my eyes.

"You look so pretty." I smiled. "Thanks." She said. Alex grinned at her. "It's like 4:30 we should leave now." Zack stated. We all nodded and headed to the parking lot. Zack and Rian got in Haley's car with Alex so it was just me and Jack. 

Dinner; 

We got to the restaurant before my parents. About 5 minutes later they finally arrived. "Mom!" I said as I engulfed her into a hug. "Hi Maria! I'm so glad to see you!" She smiled letting go. 

"Mom I'd like to introduce you to everyone." I smiled. "This is the lovely Haley, that you already know of. This is the big and strong Zack. This is the amazing Rian. This is my boyfriend Jac-" "Boyfriend? What happened to Jake?" She asked cutting me off. I sighed. "Let's just say I'm not dating him anymore." 

"Okay." She said. "Anyyway," I continued. "This is my boyfriend Jack." He stood up and shook her hand. "Nice to meet you." He smiled. "Aren't you a gentleman." She laughed. "And finally this is the famous Alex." I said hugging Alex. They hugged each other. "So glad I could finally get the chance to meet you all." She said as she sat down, my dad following.

Let's just say I ignored my dad the entire night despite the countless time he cut me, Jack or Alex off. I honestly wanted to punch him in the face but Jack calmed me down by rubbing my back like usual. 

About an hour later we all finished eating and said our goodbyes. I'm not gonna lie there were some tears. I hate letting my mom go back home with my dad but she wouldn't stay with me. I let Jack drive home cause I was too caught up in my thoughts to pay attention to the road. The whole car ride was silent.

We got back to my house and all changed into our pajamas and piled up onto the couch and watched home alone. I was sitting by Haley cause Jack and Alex were cuddling. Haley looked over at me. "What's the matter?" She asked. I just shook my head. "I'm fine." I lied.  "Maarriiaaaaa.." Jack whinnied. "Whaaat?" I whinnied back. 

He stretched his arms out towards me. "Come here." He demanded pouting. I crawled over Zack and Rian and laid down next to Jack, resting my head on his lap.

"Hi." He grinned down at me. I smiled and turned to watch the movie. Then out of nowhere Jack leaned down and kissed my head.

 The next morning I woke up in bed with Jack. I smiled as I held him tighter, burying my head into his chest. "Morning beautiful." He squeezed me. "Morni-"

"Maria." Alex stormed into the room. I turned my head. "Yeah?" I asked. He sounded so worried. It was honestly scaring me. He grabbed my hand and pulled me out of bed. "What? What's going on?" I asked as he led me outside into my car. He had my keys. He shoved me in the passenger seat and got in the drivers. Jack quickly ran and hopped into the back. 

"What's going on?" I practically screamed. "I'll tell you when we get there." He said pulling out of the driveway. I turned and looked at Jack, he just shrugged. I sighed and put my seat-belt on cause Alex was driving like a maniac. "Alex slow down, this is a bumpy rode!" I screamed. 

"We're fine!" He yelled back. He pulled into a hospital parking lot. "Alex what's going on?" By now I was terrified. He jumped out of the car, Jack following. Alex pulled me out. We took the elevator to the 4th level. "Alex.." I mumbled. We stopped at a door and Jack bumped into all of causing a domino effect. 

"Fucking shit." Alex groaned. Jack helped me and Alex up. "I don't think we can go in." Alex stated. "What's going on, please tell me." I said pulling on his arm. He looked at me and engulfed me into a hug, crying now. Both of us. "I'm so sorry." He whispered.

"Alex tell me what's going on." I cried. He sighed letting go. "Y-your mom.. she.. she tried to kill herself last night, you left your phone in the living room and the hospital called and I answered.." He explained. "WHAT?!" I cried, collapsing. Jack quickly caught me before I hit the floor. We sat there like that, his arms wrapped around me, his head rested on my back for about 5 minutes. Alex bent down and sat down across from me. 

"It's okay.." He cooed, brushing the hair out of my face. I shook my head. Why would she do that. Why. This is my fault. I should've took her home. Alex pulled me up as a nursed walked out of the room I assumed was my moms. "Hi you must be Maria." She said. I quickly nodded. 

She held the door open for all of us. No one was in the room. "This is my mom's room right?" I asked. "Was." She corrected me. "Was?" Alex asked worried. I felt all the tears coming back. Had she died? Did they already take her away? Jack squeezed my hand. I looked at him and he gave me a weak smile.

"She's actually on life support right now. But since she doesn't have insurance you would've had to pay the bill, pull the plug, or leave." She paused. "Now you're father already came and we have supplied him with a life support machine and all that and he took her home." She explained. 

"What." I asked. But I knew well what she said. I was just furious now. Not even upset over my mom anymore. Just plain furious. I ran out the door, down the stairs, then out the exit."

"Where are you going?" Jack shouted. I didn't even know he was following me. "To my parent's house." I croaked. "How are you getting there?" He asked. He grabbed my arm stopping me. "Walking." I said yanking my arm back. "Maria you can't walk to your parents house." He argued. 

I started walking away. "Oh yes I can." I started to run now. All the sudden my body was pushed to the ground. "JACK! GET OFF ME!" I yelled. "No!" He yelled back. He quickly grabbed me and put me over his shoulder. He walked back to the car and put me in the back. Alex was already in the driver's seat. 

Jack got a better grip on me so now I couldn't try to squirm away. 

"Where are we going?" I groaned. "Home." Alex stated, pulling out of the parking space.
