I cover my face with my hands. "This isn't going to work."

Veronica scoffs, opens the window, and looks down. "How should you know? You haven't tried it before."

I slap the edge of the table in annoyance.

We're in the hospital room Veronica's sister was at, sleeping in her bed, while we're planning a wicked plan about meeting my "knight in shining armor" to save me from my misery.

I roll my eyes. "And how are you confident about this?"

She shrugs her shoulders as she writes on the blank paper neatly.

"What if the guy that catches that paper plane happens to be a maniac, or an old guy, or worst, a married man?"

"Now why would a married man pick up a piece of paper on the ground? Who does that these days?" She places the pen down as she looks at her sister before looking back at me. "Only broken souls like you do that."

I scoff incredibly. "You're going to pair me up with some broken stranger?"

Veronica nods. "That's the plan."

I groan, face palming myself. "I can't even fix myself. How am I going to fix him?"

"You'll see."

When she starts folding the paper, I take it from her. "That's not how you fold a paper plane."

She smiles at me because the excitement in my voice is leaking and yet she's silent about it.

When the paper plane is finally stable, I hand it back to her. "There."

Veronica throws the paper plane outside the window. "This is for Rey breaking your heart!" she shouts ridiculously.

We both laugh.

When my brain finally registers what happened, I lock gazes with her. "Wait. What did you write inside?"

She smiles. "Your phone number."
