"I thought Blue was coming?"

I look at Veronica's confused expression. "I thought so too." I shrug my shoulders. "He's not," I murmur.

She quickly understands, her face falling. "Oh."

I nod.

Frank groans. "And I thought I wasn't the only guy. This would've become a great double-date, yeah?"

I swallow, giving Veronica a look that hinted her how I felt.

Veronica punches Frank's shoulder and takes him by the arm.

I follow them from behind, feeling like a third-party; an intruder.

As I pick out gifts from selected people, I have a sinking feeling in me that says this would've been better if I had Blue with me.

I would've been happier if he was here right now.
