Four Days Later...

SAM POV

Three days before the Blackwood party at the Washington lodge. Three more days before I see the face of the guy who hired Chris and Matt to kidnap me so he can play hero.

Anyways, I'm sitting inside the campus coffee shop waiting for Jess and Mike. Ever since the staged kidnapping, I've been hanging around with them ever since the "incident". Jess and Mike were ok with it, surprisingly Jess actually said yes right away. Freaks stay together right.

Ever since we revealed our powers to Mike, nothing changed. He never called us freaks, he actually suggested we use our powers for good. Him being the fighter, Jess being the flyer, and me being the girl that can never die. Jess and I immediately shut down his idea because we found it childish.

My thoughts are interrupted by the café door opening. I look up, Mike and jess are walking towards me. They both sit down across me.

"So... Three days before we meet wannabe knight in shining armor, you gonna put him in the friend zone and tell him you're not interested in dating a nut like him?" Jess starts.

"Hey! That's kinda mean..." I say.

"Well it's true isn't..." She replies.

I don't want to turn this conversation into an argument. I'll just keep my mouth closed.

"To be honest I actually feel sorry for the guy..." Mike says out of the blue.

"Why?" Jess and I ask at the same time.

"All the guy wanted to do was to win the girl." Mike explains.

"Well it would've happened if you weren't there..." I say humorously.

Mike chuckles.

"It's going to be awkward... Isn't it..." I say.

"Hey..." Jess says putting a hand on my shoulder. "We got your back."

I only smile at her.

CHRIS POV

I stand in front of Victor's grave. Ash and Z came along with me but they stayed in the car.

"Why am I here?.." I ask myself.

"Why are you here?" I hear someone behind me.

I turn around quickly and see Professor Walker standing a few feet behind me.

"Professor Walker..." I say nervously.

"What are you doing here Chris..." He says walking past, kneeling in front of Victor's placing a single rose in front of it. "Besides we aren't on campus... So please call me Charles."

"Ok... Charles... Funny how your so nice compared to-" he cuts me off.

"Do not insult my daughter. She can be a bitch yes, but only I have the right to say that." He says seriously.

I gulp. "Sorry Charles."

"Have a goodnight mister Hartly... To answer your question Milgram was a friend of mine..." He says walking away.

I watch him until he is out of view.

ASHLEY POV

Z and I are sitting in the backseat waiting for Chris to come back.

"So... The little get together you have is coming up." Z starts.

"Yeah, I wonder what's up with Sam and Josh. They were really close, but then Sam started hanging out with Jess and Mike recently." I reply.
