Aden's POV~

(The picture is Aden.)

An agent? what the hell was i supposed to do? Stalk this girl through a satellite star until i granted her wish? I guess it was as simple as that. anyway... how hard could it be?
"Okay." i stuck my hands in my pockets and stared at the screen then turned my gaze to my parents. "What do i have to do as an agent again?" i asked them. "Grant your client's wish no matter what it takes." my mother replied. "mom i'm only fourteen! i don't think i can grant some stranger girl's wish that easily! and whats she gonna do? am i gonna just waltz up to her and be like, hey i'm new to this but, i'm part of a secret agency that stalks sad people through fake stars and i'm here to grant your wish. i think not!" i snapped, suddenly feeling very flustered. My mother frowned at me and turned to my father. "Aden, how you go about granting the wish is up to you and you only. once assigned a wish you are the only one who can complete the task. and you can complete it however you like." My father explained. I took a deep breath and ran a few fingers through my hair. "Okay... what's this girl's wish?" i asked with a sigh. Good God, how was I going to do this? grant the wish of a girl i'd never met! Hopefully her wish wouldn't be too difficult. My father sat down at his desk and started typing madly away at a tiny keyboard. "Margret, let the other agents know we'll take this wish." He muttered and seconds later my mother was swiping up and down very quickly at a screen on the wall. "there are more of you?" i asked. realizing as soon as the words left my mouth that it was a stupid question. "of course dear." my mother chuckled. "we cant be an agency of two. there are agents stationed all over the world." she said before falling silent again, completely focused on her screen. I leaned against a turned off screen watching my father type. "what's the girl's wish?" i asked him. He didn't answer, then all of a sudden a large screen above the desk fizzed and a picture of the girl appeared. displaying her name, age, location ect. "i asked her wish not her contact information." i laughed and walked over to the desk. "thats coming. its all part of a process. you'll learn. after all this is only your first wish." my father told me without looking up from his typing. "Okay." i nodded. not looking away from the picture of my new client. she was pretty. maybe we could remain friends after i granted her wish. I opened my mouth to speak then shut it as i was interrupted by the screen fizzing out again. when it cleared up a slide was playing. Kelly sat outside an open window, facing the woods and looking up at the stars. the audio cracked and she started speaking. "i wish i was loved." she said in between heartbroken cries. then the screen shut off and my father turned around to face me. "i do apologize for the wish not being a simple one. but we've already contacted headquarters saying you'll take it so now the wish is your responsibility alone." he sighed and stood up. i put my hands up over my head then knotted my fists in my hair. "what the ever-loving frick am i supposed to do now?" i spluttered. "i've never even met this girl and i'm supposed to find her a love life? We're not even from the same state!" i yelled and sank down into one of the desk chairs. my parents exchanged a look and my father left the room. "what?" i asked when my mom looked at me sympathetically. "nobody said it would be easy." She began and sat in the other chair. "why do i have to be an agent?" i asked. "because your father and i both are. When two agents have a child its their duty to raise another." she told me. i frowned and started biting my fingernails. "does that mean i have to marry an agent too?" i asked. my mother shook her head. "no. if you marry a regular person your child has a choice to become one or not. so does your spouse." She replied. i didn't say anything at first. just nodded and put my hands back into my pockets. "where do i start?" i sighed. this agent stuff seemed fun for all of five minutes until i got assigned a wish. My mom wheeled her desk chair closer to the keyboard and pulled up the information slide and picture of the girl, Kelly. to the largest screen. "there." she replied before standing up and walking towards the door. "hey! don't leave. i have no clue what i'm doing!" i stammered and turned to face my mother. "if you're absolutely stumped, try contacting headquarters with the touchscreen or video call. They are the only ones allowed to help an agent with their case." she said before shutting the door after leaving.
I looked at my watch. It read 11:39. how did it get so late? "well i'm not tired." i sighed and wheeled my chair to face the slide with the picture and information on Kelly. "just me and all the information i can get on you now." i muttered. she was pretty. like, really pretty. finding someone to love her wouldn't be that hard. What baffled me was why somebody so beautiful could be so broken as to make their wish to be loved. surely someone loved her! and then it occurred to me that there were many different kinds of love. maybe she wanted one that was not available to her now. i wheeled back to the desk and sat for a moment looking at the tiny complicated keyboard. maybe if the star could record a wish it could act like a security camera and i could go back in time almost to see if there were any hints as to what sort of love this girl desired. after all the wish should be granted perfectly.
