Aden's POV~

"Aden! Come on!" The voice of one of my father's friends snapped me from yet again daydreaming as five of us struggled to lift a metal frame used for a tent. "Whats with ye today, boy?" The man laughed in a thick country accent after we finished dismantling the frame. "He's meeting a girl." My dad grumbled and sat down on a cooler. "Is he now?" His friend raised an eyebrow at me. "Yeah." I shrugged. trying not to break out in an idiotic smile. "When do you need to head over to where she's at?" My dad asked and took a long sip from his water bottle. I checked the clock on my phone. It read a few minutes past twelve. "Oh! now..." I muttered quickly and stood up from where i had sat on a bunch of metal poles. "When should i expect you back?" My dad yelled as i ran off. "I don't know! I'll call you!" I yelled in response and headed to the fries stand as fast as i could. i skidded to a halt and looked wildly around the food court area. There were only a few remaining picnic tables and the fries stand. I spotted Kelly instantly. She was sitting alone at a table with one earbud in. Twirling the other on her finger. Her chin propped up on her hand. though her expression seemed sad she was even more beautiful in person. I took a deep breath and walked over to her. "Hey." i smiled nervously and tapped her shoulder. She jumped nearly a foot off her seat and fumbled to turn her music off before removing her earbud. "Hi." she said. her voice shaky, i assume because she was nervous. "did i scare you?" i asked and sat down next to her. not close enough for our thighs to touch but not too far that would make things awkward. "Well, not really. I scare easily. it's fine." She laughed a little and looked down at her lap trying to suppress a huge grin before looking back up at me. I found myself almost wishing she didn't smile simply because it made the butterflies in my stomach do flips and i lost the ability to speak without seeming even more nervous than i was. "Are you okay?" Kelly's smile faded a bit and i realized i had been staring. "Yeah. sorry. i'm not very good at this." I stammered and felt a huge wave of guilt crash over me. "Good at what?" She asked with an air of confusion. "I didn't think i was that unattractive that one did not even want to talk to me." She giggled, trying to shed some humor on the situation. "No, no. it's quite the opposite." I said and shook my head quickly. Hoping she didn't think i was weird for smiling so much. "Come again?" Kelly frowned. I took a deep breath and looked away for a moment. "I really like you but i don't really know how to go about asking you to be my girlfriend because i'm finding it hard to even think straight when i'm talking to you." i stammered. It all came out so quickly that to Kelly, it probably seemed like one long word with a lot of blushing and mumbling thrown in. She blushed bright red and smiled, looking down at her hands placed awkwardly in her lap. "Well, i'm glad to know that i did not come here to get rejected by you." She said quietly and looked back at me, still grinning. I glanced at the space on the seat between us and scooted a little closer to her. Kelly blushed a little and scooted close as well. Now our legs touched. Would it have seemed perverted for me to say i liked that? "So Uh," I found myself unable to finish my sentence. "Yes?" Kelly giggled. I felt the heat rising to my cheeks. I must have been as red as a cherry. "So... i like you, you like me... do you want to do something with that?" I stammered nervously. She smirked lightly and nodded. "Yeah..." Good God, i was really bad at this. "Like what?" I asked. Secretly hoping she'd make the first move. Kelly blushed again and shrugged. Grinning like an idiot the whole time. "Take a guess." I said, nudging her shoulder gently with my own. "At what you'd like to do with it? I don't think that would go well. If you hadn't told me, i would never have guessed that you like me back." She explained and nudged me in return. I took a deep breath and looked away for a moment. "Fine. How does boyfriend and girlfriend sound?" I asked quickly and looked over at Kelly again. The few seconds it took her to say something felt like years. "Th-that sounds great." She stuttered. "Yay." I grinned so hard my cheeks hurt and hugged her tightly. "Sorry." I muttered and ran my fingers through my hair after letting go of her. "It's fine." Kelly said softly and rested her head on my shoulder. "If you say so." I replied and put one arm around her shoulders. "I do say so." She giggled before lifting her head again. I kind of wanted to kiss her. Would that be moving too fast? Maybe i should ask. "Can i ask you a weird question?" I said after a few minutes of awkward silence. My heart was beating wildly. "go ahead." Kelly answered. I took yet another deep breath. Trying to calm myself. "Have you ever kissed anyone?" I asked her. "No. i've never even been in a relationship before." Kelly told me. I somehow found this very surprising. "Do you uh, do you want to try?" I stammered. "Y-yeah. But i'm not sure if i would be brave enough." She frowned and lifted her head from my shoulder again. "Thats okay." I smiled,  leaning forward so our foreheads touched. Before i even realized what i was doing, and probably before Kelly knew what was happening, I tilted my head a little and we were kissing. When we stopped, Kelly grinned and buried her face against my shoulder. "that wasn't so hard." She giggled. I nodded and hugged her a little tighter. "there's no way this-" My sentence was cut off by a tall man who somewhat looked like Kelly, hopping out of a car and calling her name. 'Oh no!' i thought. 'Do they see us? were we in trouble?'
