Aden's POV~

I sat there staring at the blank screen in front of me after headquarters hung up. They had been no help whatsoever when I'd called to ask what I should do about Kelly asking why I had out of nowhere asked to be her friend. So, it might have taken a long time, but i decided it was probably a good idea to explain to her what was really going on. Hopefully she wouldn't think i was trying to hook her up with myself. Which i wasn't. Was i? Some people might have seen it that way. My phone vibrated, making it move across the desk a little. I picked it up to read Kelly's message. "First of all, i'm pretty sure i'll have heard weirder somehow so i'll still be your friend. And second, i can keep a secret. I like to think secret keeping is the only thing i am skilled at." I took a deep breath, "This isn't going to end well is it?" i muttered and started trying to think of what exactly i was going to say to her. "This is going to sound crazy. As of yesterday I am part of a secret agency. So are my parents. Our job is a little weird, see... when people make wishes, wish upon stars to be exact, we get notified. Lots of the stars you see are satellites. Each satellite is linked to two big computer screens, one in the home of an agent (or in my case, agents) and another at headquarters. Nobody knows exactly where headquarters is located. When an agent gets notified by one of their screens, they call in to headquarters and make sure nobody else is assigned that wish. then, that agent has the sole responsibility of making that wish come true for the person who wished it. They are not allowed to tell anyone but other agents and the person who's wish they are assigned to. Also they are not allowed to let another agent help unless it's a dual person case. Last night you were outside watching the stars and you made a wish. My dad decided it was time for me to get my first case so i was assigned the duty of granting your wish. Your wish was to be loved, am i right? so the reason i asked to be your friend is so i can help you find a boyfriend (or girlfriend. whatever you're interested in.) Again, i'm sorry if this all seems creepy. i didn't choose to be a part of it." It took me a long time, typing, changing my mind and getting worried about what her reaction would be but i finally sent my reply. "Please take this well." i whispered to myself several times as i sat staring at my phone, waiting for Kelly to say something. I tried to distract myself by spinning round and round in my desk chair while i waited. My phone buzzed. I jumped and nearly fell on the floor as the desk chair kept trying to spin. It wasn't even a message from Kelly. It was my mom asking if I wanted her to pick up anything for dinner on her way home since it was just the two of us, seeing as my dad was still working the festival and wouldn't be home till long after i'd gone to bed. Quickly i replied telling her to get whatever she liked and that i'd be hungry enough to eat anything. then i set my phone on the desk again and started spinning in circles in my desk chair. My phone buzzed twice in quick succession. A message from my mom saying 'k'. thats it. and a message from Kelly. i quickly opened up instagram direct message and read it. "Well i take back my statement that i've probably heard weirder. That is quite strange. Stalking people and making their wishes come true? but it's also the sweetest and coolest thing i've ever heard of. It makes me think of the song 'Satellite' by All Time Low. Good luck granting my wish, by the way. I'm not gonna find a boyfriend any time soon. i know that. If i had known about your stalker-star-wish-agency-thingy i would never have gone out and 'wished upon a star'. i kind of feel bad that you are now stuck trying to find a boy stupid enough to date me." She had taken it better than i could have hoped. Although she didn't seem to have faith that it would work. then again, neither did i. My dad really should have thought this through, or maybe checked what the wish was before assigning it to me. "Wow, you took that better than i could have hoped. I'm trying to think of every possible way i could hook you up with someone. Don't lose hope. You're a very pretty girl (perks of stalker star screens, i already know what you look like. Don't be alarmed though. all i saw was you making the wish. the stars can only see outside of houses.) and from what i can tell you have an equally beautiful personality, sense of humor and taste in books and music." I finished typing and sent my reply then put my phone down on the desk and set to spinning in my chair again. "Oh! i don't think i've heard that song you mentioned, could you send me the lyrics?" i sent another message to Kelly before she replied to my first one. Then i started spinning around again only stopping when Kelly replied to my messages. "Thank you so much, that's probably the nicest thing anyone has said to me in a very long time." Was her first message and the second; "also, here are the lyrics to the song:

Wishing on a star that's just a satellite
Driving in a car with broken tail-lights
Growing up with eyes glued shut

Wishing on a star that's just a satellite
Driving in a car with broken tail-lights

Na-na Na Na-na Na
Na-na Na Na-na
[x2]

Strip club in a strip mall
Million ways to die
All the things we lost in
The backseat of the sky

Growing up with eyes glued shut

Wishing on a star that's just a satellite
Driving in a car with broken tail-lights

Na-na Na Na-na Na
Na-na Na Na-na
[x2]

We were just kids, we were just kids singing
We were just kids, we were just kids
[x4]." She was right. That song did make me think of the agency.
