"Mom I swear I'm alright." I said, trying to convince my mother. I was lying on the couch in the livingroom. My mom helped me get into a new pair of cloths and wanted me to rest in the living room while my father was calling the resort guards and medic. The servace wasn't luxurious, unlike the rest of the place. Kale sat on the floor, beside me.

"At the very least, those idiots deserve to get kicked out." He calmly stated, lightly rubbing my face. My father just finished calling the security office when I looked up at him. "Dad, you don't have to call the medic. I'm alright, honest." He looked at me and the phone for a minute, debating. After a short sigh, he nodded and went back to frowning.

"I'm going to get those kids arrested." I couldn't help but smile at my dad. "How were they suppose to know I couldn't swim?" He and my mom looked at me curiously. Kale just smiled sadly. "I'm just glad I got there in time to pull you out of the water." I nodded. My father put a heavy hand on Kale's shoulder. "Thank you for saving my daughter's life, Kale." He nodded at my father.

I sat up, leaning against the back of the couch. "So what kind of food did you guys get?" My mother instantly lite up, exchanging a grin with my father. "Well, I saw something at the store that we haven't made in a while." Going behind the couch, to the kitchen, I saw her pull something out of one of the plastic bags on the counter. "Ta-da!" She announced, pulling out a box of taco shells. I smiled, excited. My mother's tacos were the best.

"Great, I'm hungry." Kale frowned at me with the biggest smile possible. "I gave you a full meal two hours ago." I stuck my tongue out at him. "That doesn't mean I still can't be hungry." He scoffed and put his hands on my stomach, tickling me. "Naw, I think the food is still in there, hiding!" He shook his hands. "Where are you?!" He said teasingly to my stomach.

I couldn't stop laughing. "Kale...stop it..." I was starting to cry from laughter when I noticed my parents were smiling at me, like I had just come back from a long trip. I pushed Kale, away, trying to breath. After a few gasps, he smiled and kissed my forehead warmly. "Okay, you rest and watch tv." He handed me thr remote and headed for the door. "Where are you going?" I asked, starting to get up.

My dad started to follow him out. "I want to talk to him for a minute. We'll be back in a bit." I nodded as both of them left. I turned on the tv and started flipping channels. I stopped when I landed on a rerun of one of my favorite shows: Heroes. It was the season one finale. Just when it was getting to the end, and I started to tear up, Kale and my Dad walked back in.

I wiped my tears away and looked over at them. My dad walked up to my mom, who was almost done cooking and Kale was frowning, looking down. I stared worried at him for a moment before he noticed and smiled. "Hey, how are you doing?" I shrugged. "I can't complain." He scoffed and frowned at me. "You almost drowned. I think you have the right to complain."

I just rolled my eyes and kept watching until it was over and I was crying again. I love Heroes with a burning passion. Kale just went "Aw" when he saw me and kiss my head. "You're such a softy." I frowned. "No I'm not." He smirked. "Then why are you crying?" I looked away. "I'm not." He got up and started tickling my neck. "Yes you are." He teased. I slapped his hands away. "Buzz off!"

"Alright you two, let's eat eat." My mother said, laughing. I stood up and stretched. My body felt alright. I walked around the couch with Kale to the plates full of ingredients. Mom always prepared everything and we make the tacos the way we want. I always made them in a very specific way. First: meat. Second: cheese. Third: letus. Fourth: tomatoes. I've always eaten them like that. I made three, took my plate and sat it down on the table.

"Let's eat in the living room tonight. We can watch a movie while we do." My mother suggested. I smiled at the idea and picked up my plate, going back to the small couch I was laying on. Kale sat beside me while my parents sat in the big couch. We watched X-Men. "Is it a Sci-fi themed night?" Kale asked, chuckling. My father shrugged. "I guess so."
