The rehersal was going well. The actors were fully into their play and the director seemed happy. Dylan sat in the last row on one of the red chairs and tried to act normal. He started to feel jelous whenever this beautiful blonde girl that played the second main role got closer to Thomas.
„I love you," she said glancing in Thomas's eyes and stopping right in front of him.
A second later they were kissing and although Dylan had seen this before he felt a cold knife pressed into his stomach. He jumed up and run out of the theater.
The old buliding had huge stone stairs, and Dylan sat on them feeling the pain burning through his body. Seemd like everyone around him had the right to kiss Thomas how much they liked, but he didn't.
The day was cloudy and Dylan shivered. He sat on the stairs for ages inhaling his pain.
„What happened, you left the rehersal?" He heard Thomas's voice and glanced up.
Thomas was dessed up in his regular clothes again. He sat next to Dylan on the stairs.
„I needed some fresh air," Dylan looked at his hands.
„You sure you ok?" Thomas looked at him.
Dylan nodded and Thomas opend his mouth to aks something but he never finished his sentence as a van stopped in front of the stairs and a door swung open. Seconds later bullets from a machine gun hit the stairs.
„Thomas!" Dylan jumped on the younger boy covering him with his own body. He found the gun in his jeans pocket and fired to the assassins. He tried to keep his hand steady and managed to hit one of the guys but they had bulletproof vest.
Than he felt a sharp pain in his leg and hot blood under his hand.
„Run!" he said when the bullets stopped.
He got up and Thomas glanced at him pale as a blank paper.
„You're wounded," he looked at his leg.
„Run," Dylan tried to hurry up the stairs feeing the pain in his leg. A second later a skinny hand garbbed his waist and Thoams supported him. They reached the theraterdoor and closed it behind them. Thy hearad the next salvo.
„What happend?" The theater guard hurried to them.
„Call the police," shouted Thomas. „And tell the others to hide"
He helped Dylan to reach the nearest bathroom and shut the door behind them.
„Run," Dylan felt the pain rising in his leg.
His pants had been already soaked with blood and he sat on the bathroom floor.
„I'm leaving bloody traces, hide, call the police and Zero." Dylan clenched his teeth.
„Do you have a knife?" asked Thomas and Dylan was taken by suprise.
„In my left shoe," he said and Thomas lifted his pants and grabbed the knife.
He took it out of the covering and started to unbutton his blue shirt quickly.
Dylan glanced at his body and felt a heatwave hitting him.
„Oh shit," he swore looking away.
„What?" Thomas took his shirt of and then realization hit him and he smiled.
But he concentrated on what he wanted to do. He cut of one of the shirt sleeves and bound it around Dylan's leg above the wound.
„Here, this should stop the bleeding for now." He pressed the rest of the shirt to the wound and got up.
He washed his hands quickly and grabbed the knife, than he helped Dylan up.
They heard more gunshots in the building.
„We need to hide, come here," Thomas left the batroom and Dylan garbbed his shuolder while he covered the blood with the shirt.
The way they took led up and Dylan moved slowly, but Thomas helped him climb up the backstage stiarcase till they reached the third floor.
„here." Thomas opened a door and led Dylan into a huge hall filled with hunderts of shop like hangers. It was the theatre wardrobe, with all the clothes used for all types of plays. Thomas helped Dylan to reach the back of the room and placed him on the floor under a huge black desk.
Dylan tried to focus, the pain in his leg and Thomas's bare chest, so close to him, made him dizzy. Thomas walked down along the long tables and took a white elegant shirt from one of them. He put it on and retured under the desk. There he placed the knife next to himself and buttoned the shirt up. Dylan stopped hie breath. How could the other be so perfect in this circumstances.
„How many do you have left?" Thomas glanced at the gun Dylan had in his hand.
„Maybe six bullets," Dylan sighed.
He would need the abillities of Zero to suervive.
The door of the room was slammed open and Thomas grabbed the knife.
Both nrealy stopped to breath. Dylan tried to not to make any sounds although his pain was killing him.
The blood started to drop on the foor
A secon later a stand was slammed.
„Come out little boy." They herad a man's voice and shivered.
Another stand fell and more things were thrown around the room.
Dylan felt his heart pounding in his chest.
A second later Thomas reachad out his free hand and grabbed his interwining thier fingers.
They glanced at each other, and Dylan felt that despite the fact, that they might be killed any second, he didn't want to be anywhere ealse.
The assassins destroyed the room and suddenly the rumble stopped.
„I think I found them." The man loughed loud and Thomas risked a glance aroud the corner of the table.
The man was approching the desk with his machine gun ready.
But in this second one of the windows opedned and a figure, dressed in balck, flew into the room, sending bullets all around the hall, and non of them missed. The assassins were taken by suprise, some tried to fight, but she was like the wind. Moving and shooting faster than a lightning. They fell on the floor one by one and the last one, that reached the door was killed by a clothes stand that was thrown into him. He fell back onto the corridor floor behind the door. Thomas nearly crawled out of the desk glancing in fascination. The woman stopped. Her dark hair was still moving around her face and she let her gun down.
„Who are you?" Thomas got up forgetting Dylan completly.
„Zero, you're mother hired me and Dylan." Zero looked him in the eyes. „The police is here, they can't know abot me, tell them the assassins killed themselves, that they argued about the prize money." She turned around and jumped out of the window leaving Thomas complelty stunned.
Dylan managed to crawl out of the desk and tried to stand.
„Does she has a boyfriend?" aske Thomas turning around.
„Yes, why," Dylan was miserable.
„Because I'm thinking about making her my new girlfriend" whispered Thomas.
A moment later Dylan collapsed on the floor.
„Dylan, oh Dylan," Thomas hurried to the boy.
