A cold hand landed on Dylan's mouth and he opened his eyes seeing a tall figure above him.
He slipped his arm down to the bag and grabbed the gun, than he jumped up and the shape moved back reaching out his hads to cover himself, and than Dylan recognized him.
„Luke," he whispered getting up.
Luke only pointed at the door and Dylan followed him out.
„Thery're here, you have to help Zero, she's on the driveway fighting," Luke looked at Dylan.
„How. . . what about him," Dylan glanced into the guestroom.
„I'll take care of him, go," Luke tapped his shoulder.
Dylan run downstairs and put on his jacket and shoes, not even bothering to tie them up, and he left the house hurring into the darkness.
He heard gunshots and saw distant lights between the trees, while his heavy breath and sweat was turning into steam in the cold air. Suddenly he stopped, a strange feeling of unnamed fear overcame him.
„Thomas," Dylan glanced at the house and run back as fast as he could.
He left the front door open and jumped two stairs at once speeding up. He slammed the guestroom door and switched the light on.
„What?" two shocked faces looked on him.
One was Luke, who was standing in the middle of the room, the second one was a very sleepy Thomas with very messy hair.
„Get up, they're here, you're coming with me," Dylan run to the bed and tossed his jacket at Thomas.
„He's save in the hosue with me, go help Zero," Luke was flustarted.
„I'm taking him," Dylan reached to his bag and grabbed extra bullets and a knife.
Thomas was rubbing his eyes and he looked half aslpeep but he put the jacket on slowly.
He found his sneakers around the bed and tied them up, as alow as if he had the whole eternity for this action.
„Let's go," Dylan grabbed his hand when Thomas finnished struggling wit his shoestrings and dragged the boy downstairs.
„Is it bad?' Thoams looked around and rubbed his eyes again.
„You must be quiet and stay behind me," Dylan walked to the backdoor. „Hold this," he spoted the box with the flying targets next to the window and gave it to Thomas.
Than they walked out into the cold night. Strings of fog were scattered between the trees like white sahes.
The forest was spooky, but Dylan dived inside it holding Thomas close to him.
„Are there bears here?" asked Thomas looking around and Dylan felt the little goosebumps on his boyfriend's hand.
„I wouldn't care to much about them. People are bothering me more," Dylan walked between the trees.
He was cose to the place where he trained with Zero, the small steam made the fog thicker in this part of the forest.
„Stop here," Dylan heard cautious steps on the moss and hid behind a tree. Thomas tugged closer to him. „Open it." Dylan glanced at the box and Thomas turned the lid.
Dylan took the box from the boy and tossed it into the fog, then he hid behind the tree again.
He felt sweatdrops on his face. Thomas hand was sticky. They heard the bee like sound of the flying targets and than some voices, gunshots and cracking branches. Dylan glanced around the trunk and spotted three people fighting with the flies, he knew how painful their bites were. One of the killers lost his gun and begun to run the opposite direction from them the other two shot blindly into the fog unable to reach the flies.
Dylan let go of Thomas' hand and put up the gun, he concentrated on one of the moving shapes and fired. The man cired and fell into the fog. The second one started to shot madly and run to a tree, but before he could reach it Dylan's bullet hid the back of his head.
„Move!" Dylan grabbed Thomas' hand and started to run between the trees.
Thomas tripped over a bigger branch and they had to stop.
„Quicker!" Dylan glanced at the boy who was ghostly pale.
His dark eyes focused at something behind them.
Thomas rised his shaking hand up and Dylan turned around, he somehow grabbed the knife and tossed it into the man that stopped behind them.
The knife hit directy into the man's chest and the guy coughed and spat blood.
„Run!" Dylan grabbed Thomas and pulled him behind him till they reached the end of the forest.
He nearly screamed when he bumped into Zero. She was tired and she had a machine gun in her hand.
„How many have you killed," she asked.
„Three," Dylan tried to catch his breath.
„That's all of them for now," she said.
„I'm taking him home, he's not safe here either," Dylan looked at her.
„I don't agree with this idea!" she said.
„I'm not asking for premission," Dylan looked at Thomas.
The boy had this strange expression and Dylan felt pain.
„Are you hurt?" He lied his hands on Thomas' shoulders but Thomas moved back.
The blonde shook his head.
„He's in shock," muttered Zero.
„Thomas," Dylan reached out his hand to caress the boy's cheek but Thomas stopped his hand.
„Don' touch me," he whispered and run past them to the house.
„I'll talk to him," Zero followed the boy and Dylan stood there unable to move, his whole world falling apart.
His heart wasn't able to bear the pain, he couldn't lose his Thomas.
