The moning air was fresh and cold. Dylan walked quickly. He left the car a black van with bulletproof windows down the street. London seemd to be calm, like a place before the storm. The fog went up slowly and the sun begun to warm the day up. The clock tower of the old town hall was right next to him and Dylan left the pavement and hurried to a wooden door. He had copied the lock and had made the key to it days ago. He glanced around but there were only a few pople walkng between the grocery and the bus stop so he slid behind the door into the perfect darkness of the stone corridor. He waited few seconds till his eyes adjusted to the darnkess then he locked the door and speded towards the stairs. They were made in 1600 and the time and dust seemd to leave it's mark on them.
The steps cracked quietly when he took cautious steps up. It was a long way in the dim light that was tossed on the staircase by samll oriels in the stone. The dust on the stairs made Dylan more relaxed. It meant no one had used the stairs for a long tim. The boy reached the narrow passage that lead to the top floor of the clocktower. It was lika a very old wooden attic with the mechanism for the clock in the middle of it. The wind blew through the missing glass of some of the windows and Dylan trembled. He laid the heavy black gun case on the foor and opened it. He wore goves, all black, a lather jacket and a hoodie.
He checked the time, it was still early. He knew Zero was about to leave the villa with Thomas and Mrs. Smith soon. Dyln felt a neddle inside him when he thought about his boyfriend but today he decided to concentrate on the mission only. The fresh and cold air made it easier for him to think cler. He got up and put the construction of the gun pod up next to the small window with the view on the theatre. A few birds corssed the ceiling and Dylan shivered. He knew birds can't talk or uderstand his actions but maybe thy feel his axiety. He build everything up and attached the gun to the pod. He checkd every inch of the construction. The shoot needed to be perfect. He theatre was nearly a mile from the clocktower and Dylan opened the viewfinder checking the position of the gun. He finally found it. The red carpet slowly filled up with waiting fans and journalists. A lot of theatre stuff was running around.
The premiere brought the cast and a lot of celebrities to London and Dylan waited patiently. He saw the crowd growing bigger and tried to avoid glancing at the huge poster that was behind the entrnce to the carpet and had a large photo of Thomas in the middle. So Dylan walked around the room, causing duts to fly up. He treid to relax but he kept glancing at the clock. The sun moved higher and soon he checked the viewfinder again.
Something started to happen, becaue the frist black cars appeared next to the carpet and the fans went wild. They were screaming loud and got silent agian seeing that the people who appeared on the carpet weren't Thomas. The photograps started to flash the photo area and Dylan shivered. It was still early, still some time to spend on unpeasent thoghts and worring. He tried to concentrate on the guests he spoted tv personalities and some know snigers. He saw Helena the older lady who liked Thomas a lot. Soon the first cast members appeared causing bigger fan drama, but when Kaya entered the capret in a beautiful sliver dress Dylan strted to tremble.
Kaya smield to the photographers, her blue eyes focused on them. She suddenly glanced towards the new car tht appreard beside the carpet and her smile grew bigger causing Dylan to fell extremaly sick. He focused the viewfinder on the car. Zero went out first. She was serious and calm, dressed in black. She gave a sing to the othersa nd Mrs. Smith walked out followed by Thomas. He had a dark brown siut to a black shirt, and he tried to act normal, but Dylan notcied how he rubbed his sweaty hands against the fabric of his pants.
The gilrs went crazy. Some fainted they nearly fell behind the barriers and some security men hurried to them trying to hold the crowd back. Thomas walked to them while Zero and Mrs. Smith took the back way around the carpet to avoid the flashlights. Thomas started to sing autograhps and pose to selfies and Dylan had him in the cross of his veiwfinder all the time. The clocktower made a loud bell like sound when the hands of the clock hit 1 p.m. a gurad and someone from the team whispered something to Thomas and he waved to the fans and walked towards the photograpers. He took a deep breath before he speeded into the glittering flashight. He placed himself in the middle of the background and tensed standing as still as possible. Dylan felt sweatdrops falling from his forehead on the gun. He focused the target right where Thomas' heart was. He tried to keep calm but his hand shivered madly.
But than he rememebered the night when he killed Latya, Thomas' scream thet made him calm as a windless day. He looked through the viewfinder one more time. Thomas hasn't moved and Dylan begged he won't move a inch in the next 30 seconds, than he closed his finger on the trigger
"Thomas stay where you are love," whispered Dylan when he pressed on the triger till it reached the breakingpoint and the bullet sprung out of the gun. It cut the air flying in a perfect curve over the roofs of the smaller bulidings and right over the crowd of photograpers and fans reching the target it was suppsed to hit.
The shot reached Thomas' chest and the fake blood bag exploded covering the boy with the dark purple drops. Everything seemd like frozen whiel the stnght of the bullet pushed Thomas on the paper background. he fell into it causing it to break and his stiff body landed on the carpet. Zero reached him few seconds later, the bodyguards were running to him with medical stuff. The fans were crying and fightig with the guard, while Mrs Smith fell into Kaya's arms screaming loud. Blue light appeared, when the police and a ambulance appeard on the street and Dylan moved. He felt his legs are too weak to carry him but he took the gun down and to the case. He moved qickly, with the precision he learned from Mark.
Mark always gave him two minuts to escape from the crime scene and Dylan suddenly remembered every swift move. He managed to close everything in the case during 47 seconds and grabbed the case runnig down the stairs. The birds above him made awful noises but he never looked around. He took two steps at one and jumped into the corridor. He had the key ready ad unlocked the door he sneaked out quicky, locked the door with one move. He walked calmly but in a solid speed reching the car and throwing the caso under the backseat.
He jumped to the driver seat and started the engine. He had ten seconds left from the two minutes he gave himslf. The engine started and the car took a quick turn driving into the street. Dylan checked all mirriors and when the time went up he reched the end of the street and turened left to a crowded road. The van was quck bt he drove caerfuly keeping all speed limits to not to drew any attention on himself. One hour later Dylan stopped at a samll restaurant in London's suburbs. He left the van on a public carpark and found the key to the sliver jeep. He took the gun case and placed it in the jeep.
Dylan opened the car and drove out of the car park carfully. He stopped twenty minutes later next to a fast food dinner. He left the car and took a takeaway coffee. Dylan walekd and found the laptop under his chair. Zero checked it one more time last night ad Dylan logged into the assassin list. He found Thomas and clicked on his name.
‚Thoams Sangster killed by Arrow today at 2 p.m.' Dylan wrote the coded message and waited.
‚factory runis, dock area, 4:15 p.m.' the line appeared and the naxt message had the adress.
Dylan shivered. He tred to be calm. He couldn't contact Zero to ask if Thomas was ok. He kenw his boyfriend was fine, but he felt fear.
Dylan logge out and closed the laptop. He ganced the the clock. He need to hury up to get the money on time.
