Sungjae's POV:

"It's a mountain hiking school project! We're all going on a camp together if... the school principal approves! I will give plus points to those who will participate."

Our hometeacher had just dropped another bomb.

"Isn't that exciting?!" Mira asked Hyunsik, but I responded instead, "Exciting? What's exciting on tiring yourself for something like that?"

She frowned. "So you won't participate?"

"No, of course not."

"Come on, Yook Sungjae!"

"I want to know who wants to participate by this week. Do I make myself clear?" The teacher said.

"Yes."

I put my head down and tried to take a nap but it's strange because I couldn't.

Should I try coming? Nah, it's just a waste of time...

"Students with low grades should especially come." I heard my teacher added.

I frowned. Then should I come?

"Sungjae-ah, you should come. It'll be fun." Peniel said.

"Okay." I answered.

"What?! You said you're not coming!" Mira said.

"I changed my mind."

"Aigoo! Anyway, I'm glad you'll come." She said with a smile that brought smile to my face. No matter how I think about it, she's really the only girl who makes me feel like this.

"T-teacher, I'm not going to participate." A familiar voice said.

Everyone looked at her. "Daebak, what happened to her? Isn't she thinking of the points she'd get?" I heard someone say.

Usually, Sohyun participates in every school activities to get the highest mark possible.

"Ah, why, Kim Sohyun? You can think about it well-"

"I'm sorry, I really can't." She said and the bell rings.

It's break time.

"Still, if ever you change your mind, just tell me... okay?"

"Yes."

"Alright, class dismissed."

Everyone excitedly left the classroom. I just stayed where I am and watched Sohyun lifelessly put her head on her desk. I can't help but remember what she said to me that day on the rooftop.

"Kim Sohyun..." I called.

"Yes?"

"Why are you not coming?" I asked.

"When did you start to bother yourself about me?" She asked back.

My jaw dropped. She's right. What is happening to me?

"A-ah, just curious! Then, if you don't wanna tell me, I'll leave you here now." I said and stood up.

I came to my family's house today to get some of my stuff and guess what scene I first saw?

"So please stop... Why are you doing this? I... Am I not really enough for you? Why do you make me look so pathetic in front of people?!"

My mother was yelling again, probably going out of her mind again.

"You stop it. I'm busy." My father said coldly.
