Chapter 7

~~~Tomoe POV~~~
I sat in the quiet shrine. Not a sound was heard. It felt kinda... Relaxing. I was so used to Lady Nanami always talking that I never knew what it was like for the shrine to be this quiet, but since (Y/n) has arrived its just like Lady Nanami is still here. I look up at the ceiling. Nanami, why'd you leave us....me? I sigh and take a sip of sake.

After doing some chores around the shrine I take a little break, I sit in one of our beautiful cherry blossoms trees and look out at the city. Where is (Y/n)? I don't feel safe knowing she's out there in the busy city. I'm gonna go get her. I stood up and brushed off the dirt on my clothes, I make sure my ears and tail are hidden before I set out to get (Y/n).

~~~Reader POV~~~
I sat in my classroom and ate my sandwich. Class had just ended and I decided to eat inside. The windows were open, a cool breeze wafting through the room. I took another bite of a lunch and gazed out the window. It's so beautiful outside. The blossoming trees, clear sky, green grass and Tomoe.... Tomoe?!!?!! I jolt out of my chair and look out of the window. Tomoe was walking through the school grounds. He looked confused and lost. What the hell is he doing here?! "Hey Tomoe!" I yelled out to him, his head whips around and he notices me. I wave for him to come here, he nods and walks into the building. "Hey (Y/n), who was that?" Some boy asks. I ignore him and stare at the door, waiting for his arrival. After minutes of suspense he finally walks through the door, everyone's eyes turn to him. I hear whispers and murmurs. Tomoe seems to be wearing something more casual than usual, and his ears and tail weren't showing. He almost looked like a normal human. I motion him over here, he swiftly walks over to me and leans against my desk. "Tomoe, what are you doing here?" I quietly ask him. He rolls his eyes and says, "I was just making sure you were safe. After all you are the Land God, it's dangerous to be out in public." He casually states as everyone is still staring at us. I quickly scan the room and return my gaze to him. "Oh ok. Well I'm fine, there's no need for you to be here anymore so goodbye." I stand up and push him towards the door. He refuses to leave but I eventually get him out of the classroom. Everyone looks at me weirdly as I slam the door shut. I return to my desk and a whole bunch of girls approach me. "So (Y/n). Who was the hottie?" I take a couple seconds to register what she just said. "Um pardon?"
"Who was that guy you were talking to? Was he you Boyfriend?" They all look anxiously at me, I gulp and shake my head. "N-no. He's just a...friend. We just recently met but he likes to be very protective." I guess he can be very protective when he wants to. When I become his mistress he'll protect me all the time. I heard them all sigh in relief and they continued to shoot out questions.

The sun was setting and the heat was dying down. I was walking up the stairs to the shrine when I saw I beautiful cherry blossom flower just float in front of me. I gently grab it and put it in my hair. Smiling, I skip up the stairs. I see Tomoe sitting on the porch, just staring at the scenery, he notices me and stands up. I think I finally have the courage to make Tomoe my familiar, that's my final decision. I gulp and run up to him. "Tomoe. Um I wanted to... Um..." I stutter and fiddle with my skirt. I look down at the concrete and shuffle my foot against the rough surface. "What is it? Spit it out." I raise my head and blurt it out. "I want you to become my Familiar!" It goes silent. His face was shocked. "Um, sorry what did you say?"
