Mitch's POV
Monday, the worst day in the entire week. I grumpily walk to school, as I am very tired. It's the Monday after I slept over at Adams. It was so much fun. Though, his parents were away for the whole weekend, so we stayed on Saturday night aswell. I'm so tired from it. I think I had around 6 hours sleep during the duration of those two days. It was worth it though. I haven't had that much fun in a looonnng time. And we didn't really doing anything!
The weather is starting to get a swirl of ice through it. I shiver and hug myself a little. My big fluffy jacket still can't suffice for the chill in the harsh wind. Soon, it's going to start snowing. I love the snow. I love it's cleanliness and purity, unlike me. I shake my head and continue walking through the park behind the school.
Suddenly, I run into someone buff, causing me to fall on my behind. I groan in pain and then look up. My heart drops out of my chest and my eyes widenI breath hitches in the back of my throat and my hands start trembling in fear. It's Jerome and his gang of friends. The guy I ran into smirks.
"What do you think your doing?" He asks, taking a step closer. The other boys smirk. I gulp and scoot back a little, trying to escape this boy who is three times the size of me. But this causes him to only take a step closer, along with the gang behind him.
"I think you need to learn who is boss around here." He says lowly, and then kicks me in the stomach. I instantly curl up and hold the tender area. The air has been knocked out of my lungs too, causing me to gasp. I groan. Some other guy comes up and kicks me in the back. I cry out and squeeze my eyes shut. Tears roll down them as someone grabs my hair and hoists me up.
"Look at you, you worthless piece of shit. You think you own the place?" He asks and the punches me in the face. I whimper once again. A warm liquid rolls down my nose and onto my lips. Stay calm Mitch. The past will not repeat. Not while your out in the open. You were a bathroom with them. You'll be ok. They continue to taunt with me. I don't fight back. There is no point. I'm too small and scrawny.
I lay on the ground as they kick all over my body. They laugh and shout insults while they do this. Every insult is true though. The world around me starts spinning. My eyes start to get blotches of black on the edges. I'm starting to go. Maybe, even forever. That sounds nice.
Suddenly, all the kicks and blows stop. I start coughing up blood. My lungs heave for air, but my chest hurts. They've probably broken a rib. I shiver from the cold. The world starts to fade around me. All the pain starts to leave as my vision becomes hazy. Is this what dying feels like?
"You guys go ahead, I'll meet up with ya." A soft, muffled voice says. That's the last thing I hear before everything goes black.
-~*~-
Warm, why is everything so warm? Where am I? Memories start to flood back into my mind. Getting beaten up and fainting. Oh god, where the hell am I? I'm laying on something soft, too soft to be the stone pavement. At this, my eyes flutter open. I'm looking at a plain white roof. My eyes drift to my left side, only to be met with the back of a dark grey couch. A blanket has been tightly wrapped around me, with my arms above with a bandage wrapped around them.
My head is on a pillow. The room I'm in looks quiet large, but is cosy. To my right is a fireplace which has soft orange embers dancing around on the wood. I sigh and look down to my feet, to only be met with a pair of dark oak eyes full of concern. I yelp in surprise and try to scoot away from this person, but to only whimper in pain. I close my eyes and try to move again, only for me to cry out.
