Mitch's POV
The next day, I am released from hospital. The doctor said that I'm healing quite fast (thanks Seto). They said I might only be in a wheelchair for a week, which is good. Thank god too, I hate hospitals. I woke up intertwined with Jerome. The doctor was smiling at us. Jerome was still asleep and she whispered to me that we looked cute together. I was so embarrassed but didn't say anything. I felt so safe though. For the first night in a long time, I had no nightmares. I suppose it's because I told the group my past. It felt so good to get my feelings off of my chest. Though, now I'm going to pay the consequences.
I'm sitting on my bed with Jerome, waiting for Rob and Preston to bring me some clothes from home. The two of us just sit in silence. Well, that is until I break it.
"I'm sorry." I say, my voice cracking at the end. Jerome looks at me, and intertwines our fingers. I sense of relief floods through my body, making me take a deep shaky breath. I look at our hands. Mine is so small and fragile compared to his. The two of us are so different, yet so similar. "Mitch, don't be sorry. It's ok, your ok, I'm here for you." He says quietly. I look up to meet his eyes. The two of us look into each others eyes. His eyes are so beautiful, they are an exact representation of his personality and looks.
Jerome's eyes then flicker down to my lips. Mine look at his also. So big and plump. I wonder what they'd feel like pressed against mine? My heart pounds in my chest as Jerome leans a little closer. His eyes meet mine again as he presses our foreheads together. His hand that is not intertwined with mine, reaches up and holds my cheek. My cheeks start to heat up as his rough thumb strokes it. Time seems to pause, just the two of us for the rest of eternity. His eyes look into mine lovingly. God dammit, just kiss me already!
Jerome starts to lean in, our lips are only millimetres apart. My heart rate increases. I can hear the beat of it in my ears. Nerves swell through my chest. I can feel his warm breath against mine. Our eyes flutter shut, then something amazing happ-
"Hey guys, Preston and I got...the clothes." Robs voice interrupts us. Instantly, Jerome and I pull away from each other and look to the door. Rob is standing there with a shocked look on his face. I flush red. He walks up to us stealthily and gives me my clothes and then leaves the room, closing the door without another word. What the actual fuck?
Jerome and I look at each other weirdly. Then, We burst out laughing. That was fucking weird! I think we may have scared Rob. Also, fuck you rob! I was so close to kissing him! After a while of Jerome and I dying, he helps me get changed since I can't really move. Besides, he has seen me almost naked before. I still have the bandages on my body. The doctor said I'll need to change them every day until I can walk.
Anyway, we check out of the hospital at around 10 in the morning, Jerome pushing me in the wheelchair. Once we get to his car, he carefully picks me up bridal style, making me yelp from surprise. He laughs. Oh god his laugh is more beautiful then anything I could ever play on the piano. His voice is like the perfect melody and his laugh is the only harmony I ever want to hear. Oh god, I'm totally whipped. God dammit! I promised myself I wouldn't fall for anyone again! But, Jerome makes me feel so good about myself! But I shouldn't love someone! I am so confused on how I should feel about being in love. Oh no, I love Jerome. He places me down on the front passenger seat and buckles me up. "I feel like a two year old." I pout. He chuckles, shuts the door and puts the wheelchair in the boot.
On the drive back to my house, we listen to the radio. Then, my favourite song comes on. It's called "Victorious" by Panic! at The Disco. I look to Jerome, who looks at me. We both know what this means. Then, we both burst out singing at the same time. None of its in the right key, but I don't think either of us care. I giggle as I do so. I didn't know that Jerome liked the same kind of music as I do. I don't know why, but I feel much happier today then I have ever been before. I feel like a massive weight has lifted off of my chest. I suppose since I got my past out in the open.
