Part 10 How I Feel

Pretty much every wolf in the city went into panic mode when they heard about Lexi.

News traveled way too fast and the situation exaggerated the further it spread. I must admit I panicked as well when Lexi passed out. I mean what the heck do you do in a situation like this?

She laid on the bed golden strands slightly frazzled as the pack doctor made her way here but by the time she arrived it was too late. I'm not sure if it was Xavier's presence or the smell of the chocolate bar  I rested under her nose as I rapidly slapped her cheeks.

When she finally finished her Kit-kat she beckoned me to continue explaining against my better judgement.

I insisted that she had heard enough for one day that we would continue tomorrow. She then insisted she would take great pleasure in 'beating me senseless' if I didn't. I could tell she was really curious. I asked the doctor for the okay and took my seat again opposite the bed.

I told her about the fact that Cole and I were mates. I told her that we had completed the full mating process and that the reason for my absence lately was Cole. Although I was never really completely absence as I am still acting as her watcher from afar.

'Ewwww wait a minute... You and Cole had.. you know.. sexy time' she hushed the last bit in case the guys could hear her. 'Too late.' Cole.

'He heard you Lexi.'

'Ohhh. It's girl talk you horney bastxxd, STAY OUT!' she hollered those last words to Cole and I knew he heard them because of the laughter that came through the mind-link and the halls.

'Wait.. So, because Xavier's my mate, this is a together forever, for better for worse kind of situation?'

'Lexi, It can only be that way if you want it to be and you two work hard to keeping it that way. What I can tell you, is that he will be your only chance at true love. You can love someone else yes, but never like you can Xavier. No one can take his place.'

She sat in silence obviously deep in thought. She looked as though she wasn't quite sure if it was a good thing or a bad thing.

'Are you ready for the final part or have you had enough for one day?' I asked as she shuffled around the bed slightly embarrassed that the boys could hear her little rants throughout her entire stay at Xavier's.

'Go on. Nothing can shock me at this point.' she whispered still slightly uneasy.

'Well, this one's personal. It's about my parents.'

'Oh really Chanelle you don't have to tell me that, I know you don't like...'

'Hush Lexi. I want to.' She nodded at me and crossed her legs before her on the bed getting more comfortable.

'My parent's are separated. Well I guess you can say separated.' she looked at me questioningly but said nothing as I continued. 'They weren't mates. They lived together for 2 years after completing the mating process before they had me.' I cleared my throat and shuffled a little myself.

'My dad erm.. He left my mom when I was 7 years old... For someone else. He has a new family now with his real mate. He doesn't want anything to do with me or my mom.' I released a breath I didn't realize I was holding.

I hadn't even noticed that Lexi had pulled me up into a hug due to the heavy tears streaming down my face.

We had been the talk of the pack for almost a full year. My mom took it hard. She really did love him. At first I didn't leave my room. I didn't play with my toys. I just kept remembering the words he would sing to me whenever I had my nightmares...
