I sat alone in my room, consumed by shadows and darkness. He was gone. Terrin was gone. I couldn't stop thinking about it. My best friend had betrayed me and joined forces with the Demon King. And he did all of this because of jealousy, because he was in love with me. I hugged my knees and rested my head against them. Their was only darkness around me, nothing more. I wouldn't let Aaron stay with me. I just wanted to be alone in my void of darkness. For almost two years Terrin and I had been best friends. Now every moment we shared was lost, lost in my void of darkness.
The shadows slowly crawled underneath the door, but I didn't care. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. Who else would I loose? My father, brother and Leo were dead. I had lost Terrin, since he joined the Demon King. Who else would leave my life? Thoughts spun around my head like the swirls of the shadows surrounding me. I closed my eyes. Sometimes I wished that I were dead. If I were dead then I wouldn't have to live in a cruel world like this. But if I were dead, then the people that care about me would grieve for me, which was the opposite of what I wanted. I never wanted anyone to feel the pain that I had felt. Ryia knew my pain, but I could never have Aaron feeling the same way.
I opened my eyes. I wanted to get rid of the shadows that surrounded me, but I didn't know how. My emotions were too unstable. I couldn't control the shadows when I was feeling like this. Then the voices came. When I got unstable like this, sometimes I would hear voices. They were faint whispers at first, but over time, they became loud yells and screams in my ears. The voices were screaming at me, tearing my ears apart. I covered my ears with my hands and clenched my eyes shut. I had to ignore them. They weren't real. None of them were real. But they sounded real as they echoed through my mind. But suddenly, a voice said, "Alexandria?" Then suddenly, the shadows disappeared altogether.
I lightly gasped to see my room with no shadows. I was more shocked to see Ryia at my doorway. She usually spent most of her time at Leo's tree. What was she doing here? "What's going on? Why were their so many shadows in here? Were they coming from you?" She asked. I nodded. Ryia walked over to me and sat in front of me. I was still bunched up in the corner of my room, hugging my knees. "Are you alright?" Ryia asked, putting her hand on my knee. I shook my head. Ryia gave me a confused look. "It's Terrin....." I said. "Terrin? What did he say to make you mad this time?" Ryia asked. "It's not what he said, it's what he did" I said.
Then, I told Ryia everything. I told her that Terrin had joined the Demon King due to his jealousy towards Aaron and I, and that Simon was in the castle, trying to help us. Ryia stared at me for a while. "Terrin....that bastard..." She said, clenching her skirt in anger. "I can't believe this is happening" I quietly said, biting my knuckles. Ryia took my hand and pulled it away from my mouth. "That's not good for you to do" she said with a smile. I took a deep breath. "Let's forget about Terrin for now. Simon, where is he?" Ryia asked.
"He's in a guest room, but he's exhausted. I wouldn't recommend talking to him now" I said. Ryia nodded. She stood up and heals her hand out. I took it, and she helped me up. "Come, let's get some tea" she said. I nodded. Together, we made our way to the parlor and drank a good cup of tea together. I was glad to finally have my sister back.
