I woke up with a powerful migraine. The room seemed to spin. I quickly tried to think back to the self-defense classes I took, but my brain began to pound against my skull. I couldn't think straight.
After a while of agonizing nausea, my senses began to awake. Slowly, the fogginess of my thoughts began to clear out. The slight blurriness of my vision started to leave. I reassessed my surroundings, realizing that I wasn't in a room but rather a van. Panic and fear filled my every thought. I tried to move my arms and legs in a attempt to get up from my seat. Only to find my ankles and wrists tied! This was insane. Why?.. How?..Wh...I needed to escape. In a state of pure anxiety, I rapidly pulled at the ropes in a attempt to bring my hands in front of me. The rough fibers gnawed at my skin. I let out a blood curdling scream. I felt so lost ... so scared... so helpless...
Tears clouded my vision. I tried to keep them away, but they came anyway. I quietly sobbed to myself, until I heard a slight groan from behind me. My heart began to beat so fast and loud it was almost audible. I turned over my left shoulder, unsure of what I'd see. "Andrew,"I cried.
He cracked his eyes open to a quarter of an inch. "Kim," he groaned in obvious pain. His left eye was purple and swollen and his bottom lip was busted. "Are you ok?"
"I think so... are you ok," I replied still a bit disoriented from my panic attack.
"I'm fine..."
"Good! Cause if they don't kill you, I'll see to it personally... This is all your fault! You and your stupid..."
"Really? Do you really think this is the time to point fingers?" He gestured with his head at the word 'this' and began wiggling in a fruitless attempt to get free.
Before I could reply, The van screeched to a stop. I would have hit one of the walls if not for the rope tying my waist to the chair. The door flew open. The sun blinded me with it's brightness. My guess was that they painted the single window in the van to block as much view of the outside as possible. Immediately, I turned to face Andrew with a worried expression on my face. Once again, fear clouded my every thought.
"Jasper, bring them to the concentration room," The raspy vioce order.
"Why do I always have to do all the work Jack," he questioned in a tone that showed he was obviously joking. I didn't see the humor. As Jasper approached, I instantly snapped my head to face Andrew. His face was unreadable. I went into another panic attack thrashing around with the limited amount of movement the rope allowed.
Jasper just laughed before pulling out a cloth and placing it over my face. Its sweet sent was all too familiar. The only thing my attempt to escape brought was a even quicker inhalation of the chloroform. My vision blurred. My brain fogged. I felt ....
