Merida in Berk

Chapter 6

Merida's POV

We were flying off into the sky. Hiccup and I on Toothless and Jack being carried by the wind. I can't believed this happened. This is all my fault I shouldn't of ran away from home. Now I've put Rapunzel's life in danger and now Jack's and Hiccup's.

At least Rapunzel's power isn't as destructive as mine. You see my power is being able control fire. When I was stuck in that tree by that flightless dragon, he actually tried to aim his fire at me but I was just strong enough to deflect it, unfortunately it hit the tree. I haven't quite mastered my powers yet, which is even more dangerous.

We gave Toothless Rapunzel's hair brush so we could track her. The dragon started flying down into a dark cave.

"Let's go everyone into the dark cave of doom." Said Hiccup

We started walking in the cave when I heard a slithering voice.

"Hmm Princess Merida what a lovely surprise, you'll go well with your little blonde friend."

"Where is she!" I said in my head

"Oh aren't we an eager what do you call it ah yes wee lass." The voice said mockingly.

Who are you?

"I'm your worst nightmare, I know all your deepest fears, including your fear of you hurting the people you hold dear. That Hiccup fellow sure is something, wouldn't it be just horrible if he just......went up in flames."

You leave him alone he has done nothing!

"Oh but I don't need to do anything, you can do that all by yourself, intentionally or accidentally."

The the voice was gone. What it said still lingered in my mind. What if I can't control my power and end up hurting him? I asked myself.

"Merida, you okay?" Asked Hiccup.

"Yes, just worried about Rapunzel."

Hiccup's POV

"It's okay we'll find her." I said.

We went deeper into the mysterious cave until we saw a deep cavern. Cracks of light seeped through the ceiling, revealing cages everywhere. Some empty and some filled with things I didn't even want to know. Except the one cage who held a scared gagged blonde girl. Rapunzel.

"Rapunzel!!" Cried out Jack.

He started to run but was blocked by a huge tiger.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you!" Said the tiger.

The tiger swiped jack and knocked him unconscious.

"Jack!" I yelled.

The tiger started to grow tall until finally she was transformed into a lady with long black hair and the same golden eyes. The shapeshifter!

The lady was joined by two thugs, an elderly woman and......Pitch. One of the thugs took Rapunzel out of her cage and gripped her hands behind her back .

"One more step forward and blondie gets it!" The big thug said,

"Toothless don't." I calmed Toothless down for fear he might anger the evil ones.

"Please let her go!" I begged.

"We're not letting her go......unless..." The old hag said.

"Unless we make a trade the blonde for the redhead." Pitch said.

I was about to argue about how that won't happen when Merida spoke

"If I go with you, you let her go?" She asked.

"Why of course, a princess who has the power to control fire is much more valuable than a healer." Said the hag.

"What?! No! Merida don't do this!"

"I have to, she's innocent, and anyway I'm to dangerous to be around. If I accidentally hurt you or anyone else with my fire abilities I just couldn't forgive myself." She said.

"I don't care! Merida please you don't need to do this! We can take them and have both you and Rapunzel safe." I stated.

"If we fight, then there's a chance of more people getting hurt. I need to do this, it's my role as a princess." She said.

"Please, I can't lose you!"

"And I can't let you get hurt!"

"If we are done with this argument, can we please make the trade." Said Pitch.

"Let her go first!" She said.

The thug nodded un gagged Rapunzel and pushed her away. Rapunzel ran straight to the unconscious Jack.

Merida was pulled from my grasp by Pitch.

"Hmm don't worry Hiccup, we'll take good care of her."

Then the thug knocked her out with one swing.

The last thing I remembered was heat and anger growing inside me than everyone starting to shrink or maybe I was getting taller?
