Merida in Berk

Chapter 9

Merida's POV

They took Hiccup and I to something that looked like a stadium.

"Welcome to Dragon Academy!!!" said Hiccup.

"Well techinically it's "Royal Training" right now." said Jack.

"Here you and Hiccup will be training to control your powers. Since your powers come from almost the same elements you will be training in the same place." said Rapunzel.

"When you graduate, you should be very experienced with your power and have hopefully mastered it." said Jack.

"Since neither Jack or I have any experience with fire we called in some help."  Rapunzel said.

Two unfamiliar people came from the doors. The man was great and big, he had a great brown beard and wore viking clothes.  The woman was small. She had  long dark hair with ember eyes, she also wore viking clothes. They looked awesome and tough.

"These will be your trainers, this is Drake the Destroyer and Seraphina the Scorcher." said Jack.

Even their names sounded cool!

"Alright first we're going to see how well you are able to control fire and aim fire." Seraphina stated.

"Um I kind of just found out I had this power yesterday so...." HIccup said.

"Well for me personally, to get my fire going, I think of something that made me angry in the past, now you want to hold on to that thought but you don't want to lose control of your fire." answered Drake. Drake then demonstrated by breathing out fire and hitting a test dummy. Seraphina then demonstrated by producing fire from her finger tips and hurling a fire ball right at the target and hitting a bullseye.

"Now close your eyes." said Drake. Hiccup did as he was told. "Now do you have that memory?" "Yes", said Hiccup.

"Alright now I want you to hold on to that feeling of heat and I want you to release it on that target when you open your eyes." he said. "One....Two....Three!"

Hiccup opened his now yellow eyes and fire blew from his mouth and scorched the middle of the target ten feet ahead of him.

Hiccup's eyes went back to their normal color and he looked bewildered yet relieved. "You did it my boy!" said Drake.

"I did it and I didn't blackout!" Hiccup said in disbelief. He looked so happy.

"Alright missy your turn." Seraphina said to me.

I concentrated on my target. This should be easy I thought, I'm an archer, all I need to do is shoot like I was shooting an arrow, only instead of an arrow it would be fire. I concentrated and fire appeared from my finger tips. I let it blast before me. I hit the middle of the target with my fire! Unfortunately it hit the rest of the target as well turning it into ash. Whoops?

"Wooooow." said Hiccup.

"You have great power Merida, but you need to learn how to control it, you can't just blast the whole entire target!" Seraphina stated.

"Why not? It got the job done." I said.

"Well what if your job was to save someone who was being held by someone cruel and evil at knife point. Sure you can just blast the evil one with fire and he's gone, but if you can't control it you'll just burn the evil one and the person you were trying to save with it.!" She exclaimed.

UGH! She has a point.

"Now for your next lesson tomorrow, Hiccup you're going to learn how to turn into a dragon without blacking out  with me tomorrow and Merida you're going to keep trying to control your fire and once you've done that Seraphina is going to show you how you can produce intense heat from your skin." said Drake.

Author's note" So Merida and Hiccup are in training to control their power! I thought it would be cool to add Seraphina and Drake as trainer's because honestly it would be weird if Jack the spirit of Winter, and Rapunzel  the Healer was training two Fire ablilities to control their power.  They won't be in the story very much though. I hope to update soon!!!
