Mira was sitting and the couch in the girls room, chatting with Wendy about the weather until a nervous Stacy poked her on the arm. She then pointed for her to follow to the back balcony, both leaving a Wendy by her lonesome. Wendy crossed her arms and sat there patiently, waiting for something interesting to happen until she heard a loud scream for out side. She jumped off the couch and crept to the door of the balcony and spied on their conversation.

"Mira, calm yourself-

"Calm myself? CALM MYSELF?! My sister was kidnapped and you just want me to calm myself?! No, na, I'm gonna tear this entire town into shreds if we don't find her soon! I'll blow up every inch!" Mira fumed, punching a hole in the wall. Wendy's eyes were wide as a hole was made in the wall, next to her face. This was a dangerous place to be at the moment.

"What are we going to do!?"

"Don't worry, I have Lucy and Levy trying to work things out right now."

"Working out what?"

"The buddy system?"

"Yep!" Levy chirped. She held out a big velvety hat from out of nowhere, then she slowly pulled tiny pieces of paper from out of the hat and dropped them all back in. She then pointed at Lucy to continue their little explanation on the process. The young blonde girl nodded and stood right next to Levy.

"We've decided that this will be the choosing system so none of us would choose people that would just distract one another durning the rescue search."

"Well I feel bad for whoever gets paired with Natsu for this." Gay whispered to everyone, earning a few snickers and a livid glare.

"What's that supposed to mean, ya ice prick?!" Natsu stood up and tried to punch Gray in the chest, until metal hand caught his fist, crushing his fingers with its brute strength. Then another fist came around with incredible speed and smashed into his face. There was a sickening crack, and the poor pink haired fool crumbled onto the floor, limp quiet.

"Thanks Ezra." Lucy said, wi king to her scary friend. Ezra nodded and sat back down in her seat, with a gurgling Natsu slumped over her shoulder.

"Ok, like I was saying before the twin morons interrupted me-

"No regrets!"

"Shut up Gray! Anyways, different people will draw a scrap from the hat to receive their partner or partners." Lucy then used herself as an example and reached into the hat herself. She rummaged her hand through the scraps of paper and pulled one out of the hat. Her eyes widened with a little surprise then she read it to her friends.

"Gray." The boy shrugged dismissively and patted his best friend on the back with pity. "Sorry buddy." He whispered and Natsu growled in pain.

"This shit is rigged." Natsu mumbled, making Ezra jab him in the stomach with her iron fist once more, and he fell back into his coma like state.

A few seconds later Juvia stood next to the hat and pulled out a scrap.

"Natsu." The disappointment obviously laced with her voice. She couldn't help but feel a burning rage, knowing that Lucy and Gray were partners, but did her best to swallow her sadness.

"Romeo....." There was a momentary pause as Wendy stared stared at the paled with a blank look that quickly turned into terror.

"Can I have a new partner?!" She asked desperately, only to be disappointed when the best friends shook their heads 'no'. She sighed and sat back down in her chair with the weird silence hanging in the air

"Oh, Come on! Not him!" Stacey whined. She tossed the paper on the ground angrily and stomped back to her seat. Levy picked up the paper and turned it over for everyone to read the small name in the corner.

"Hey, what's so bad about me!?" Sting said jumping from his chair, fist clenched. Stacey mumbled something under her breath and crossed her arms. Everyone looked back-and-forth between the two with a sense of awkwardness.

"Laxis." Ezra said sadly. She was actually hoping to partner up with someone else, but alas, she was stuck with the easily angered blonde. She wondered how Mira was able to put up with him.

Lucy and Levy looked at each other with a nod of their heads, knowing why they needed to do. They both had figured that this would happen, other prepare a backup plan for incase. Levy pulled out a credit card and waved I front of Cana, who started shaking after getting a glimpse of it.

"All you can drink, at the Twilight springs bar." Lucy said slowly, plucking the card from Levy's hands, and place them in Cana's trembling ones. "As long as you go with your designated group for the search."

"Great, now let's get out there and start searching for Lissana!" Everyone except for some groaned in irritation and shuffled their way out the library doors, moving past a girl with brown hair up in a high ponytail, holding a big and dusty book in her hands.

"Those guys are super weird." Ashely mumbled and continued to read her book in the new found silence of the library.
