He couldn't stop thinking about Bre. He had been working at the hospital for a little over a month now and they spent their breaks together. She was quite the woman; very different from most he'd met now-a-days.

He had learned her name was Aubrey. She was born and raised in New York, which explained her accent and city girl sense of style. She wasn't obsessed with material things and the latest fashion trends; that may be one of the things he likes most about her. That wasn't common in the world he lived in. Most women he met were always draped in the finest of the season. Ryan was indeed an expensive girl, but he still loves her nonetheless.

Speaking of Ryan, she had been trying his last nerves lately with all the wedding preparation going on. He was unsure if it was all the stress that had her cranky or if she was just blowing every little thing out of proportion; but he found himself dreading going home tonight.

"Alright guys, see ya in a few days." He heard a familiar voice saying goodbye to the staff in a distance. He turned around and saw Aubrey walking out of the automatic doors and into the parking lot.

"Sup Mr. Grinch." She greeted him. He laughed a bit and his eye brows rose in shock.

"Grinch?"

"Don't give me the look like you haven't noticed you've been on your period lately." They shared a laugh. She was truly a character.

"Everything good?" She asked after a brief moment of silence. She pulled out a joint and put it up to her mouth. He slightly laughed.

"When aren't you smoking?" He asked her sarcastically. They had spent a few days a week together the past month and he can only remember a few occasions where she wasn't having what she called an 'herbal treatment'.

"That's a great question." She laughed a little before lighting and taking a puff.

"Don't avoid my question."

Trey looked at her, and she, at him. Most of the time they spent together she always stared off, like her mind was miles away from here. Eye contact, for her, was a rarity. But when they did, the moment seemed to last forever. Seconds turned into minutes, minutes turned into hours... Or so it seemed. Her eyes were so soft and serene. Her dilated pupils made the colors pop even more. They were more green than blue. Pure beauty. Her most exotic feature.

She blinked, breaking his concentration and looked off into the parking lot, inhaling the drug yet again.

"Problems at home." He simply stated, looking down at his Nike clad feet. He decided to dress more casual today.

"Oh okay. I understand if you don't wanna talk about it. I'm sure everything will work out though." She responded.

"Not looking forward to going home tonight to be honest."

She chuckled and put the joint up to her mouth, but Trey took it from her hands and inhaled it himself. Her mouth dropped slightly and her eyes widened as she watched him remove the paper from his lips and close his eyes. His head titled back as the drug worked on his body. He inhaled again then passed it to her.

"Well excuse me! Dr. Neverson is stepping to the bad side, huh?" She joked. He slightly smiled and gave her a wink.

She giggled again.

Her giggle was the most beautiful sound he had ever heard. It was barely audible, almost shy; the total opposite of her. It seemed so innocent and a tad bit shrill all at the same time.

He was staring at her. It wasn't until she looked at him again that he had noticed.

"Want to go get dinner or something?"

The drug was working already. Had to be, because right after he uttered the question he got a guilty feeling in his gut, and he wasn't sure if he felt stupid for asking because his fiancé was waiting at home, or because a large part of him feared rejection.

"Oh no, that's how it starts," she inhaled. "You ask me out, we go out, you start feelin' me, cheat on your girl, and fall in love with me." She said half-joking, half not. She let out a slightly nervous chuckle as she exhaled, then held it out to pass.

Trey grabbed it.

"Haha! You got it twisted. There's nothing wrong with dinner with a co-worker. Don't give yaself too much credit." He responded.

She paused for a moment.

"Touché." She simply stated while watching him smoke. She turned to him and smiled.

"Tell you what. I get in my car, you follow me to my favorite restaurant. If you can keep up, dinner it is." She said folding her arms across her chest.

He smiled. His Challenger was indeed up for a challenge.

"Sure you wanna go there girl?" He asked, inhaling and passing.

"Positive. Under one condition." She said, taking a long puff then throwing the stub over the balcony as they began walking toward the cars.

"What's that?" He said unlocking the doors to his Challenger, as they both looked in the direction of the chirping noise. She looked at his car and he smiled cockily.

She pulled out her keys and hit her unlock alarm and his eyes followed the noise to a candy blue Camero SS parked a few spaces away from his. His eyes widened and she returned a cocky smirk and stopped once she reached her car.

"Promise that you won't fall in love with me." She said opening the door to get car and waited for his reply.

He opened the door to his car and before getting in, simply replied.

"Deal." with a smirk.
