1:30, the clock read.
I know Luke said 1:30, and it takes like 15 minutes to get to the park, but knowing Luke, he's going to be late to. So if I leave at 1:30, chances are I'll get there when he does.
I threw on a flannel and leggings, hoping Luke wasn't looking for me to wear anything fancy, but then again it's luke and I don't really think he cares what I wear.
I hop into my jeep, taking immediate notice to the bird poop plastered on my window.
"Shit," I mumble. Just my luck.
I sigh, slowly walking over to the center compartment inside my car and grabbing a spare napkin that I keep in there.
I reach to the window shield and quickly wipe it off, unfortunately it left white streaks on my window. "Stupid bird," I throw my trash into the bin sitting outside my home.
I feel a vibration coming from the butt pocket of my jeans, but I ignore it until I sit inside my car. I pick up, thinking it was Luke, and I was about to tell him I'm coming until he spoke, and the voice that spoke wasn't exactly Luke's. It was a little more raspy and deeper.
I check the caller ID again, it read Calum the homie.
"Calum?" I asked, slightly confused.
"Al? Um, what are you doing right now?" He asked. His voice wasn't casual either, like I was expecting; it sounded a bit nervous.
"I was just about to leave home, why?" I stick the keys into the engine of my car, but I don't start it. I sit back and wait for Calum's reply.
"Um, would you be able to help me out?" He asked, and this time, I felt myself getting nervous.
"With what?" I ask, slightly leaning forward in my seats.
"I kind of, uh, got into an accident," he breathes out and my heart drops.
"What? are you ok?" I ask quickly and in panic, but now he seems to be the calm one.
"Just a little whip lash, but I think I'm ok. I just panicked and didn't know what to do. Please come?" He asks, and I quickly respond with an ok.
"Where are you?" I wrap my seat belt around me and buckle it in. I quickly turn on the engine, and start backing out of the driveway.
"I'm off of third, over by that elementary school."
"I'm on my way," I say before hanging up. He wasn't very far away, it was like a 5 minute drive.
I spot Mr. Hemmings sliver Honda parked off to the side of the road, along with a red pick up truck. Calum stood, leaning against his car, as I saw a man beside him, writing something down on a piece of paper.
I pull up and park behind the car, and I've never seen Calum move so quickly.
"Al, thank god you're here," he says, barely letting me get out of the car before hugging me.
I hug him back tightly before quickly letting him go, so we can get out of the street.
"Is anyone hurt?" I ask out loud, walking up to the spot where Calum was standing.
The man looks up and hands me back the insurance papers from Mr. Hemmings car aggressively.
"No, the entire front of my car is banged up. I had just re done it too," he spits, eyeing Calum.
"What happened?" I asked, looking at Calum who still looked shooken up.
"He drove when he wasn't supposed to, and damaged my car. You'll be paying for this," the older man stepped closer to Calum, and I stepped in between, despite me being smaller than both of them.
