"GUESS WHAT" I practically yell in Michael's face, jumping on his bed to wake him up.
I know what you might be thinking, 'oh me and Michael must live together and be dating'
First of all no. Ew. He's my brother from another mother. I mean, we practically live at each other's places, especially since he lives right across the street.
I don't really remember a single week where we haven't actually slept over at one another's house, usually it's my house, but occasionally it's at his, like today.
I continue bouncing on his bed as he continues to lie there motionless, trying his best to ignore me. Finally he has it and grabs the pillow his head was laying on and hits me straight in the stomach, knocking me over and off of the bed.
As much as that hurt, nice aim for just waking up, Clifford.
"You suck," I roll my eyes, getting myself up off the ground and rubbing my now sore butt.
"You deserve it," he mumbles into his pillow.
I decide to grab a stray pillow and start hitting him repeatedly.
"I just want your attention," I say in between hits on his back.
"Ok, I'm up! God damn, just stop hitting me," he groans, sitting up and rubbing his eyes.
"Guess what," I say again, the smile on my face not fading away once.
"What?" He says grumpily. As much as I annoy him, I know he'd never be truly mad at me. I've done worse to him, most on accident, but some one purpose.
"Oh hush up. Guess who's coming back in town," I say, trying hard to contain my excitement.
"Luke?" He says, still sleepy.
I just laugh, "he's already here, idiot"
He just stares at me blankly, waiting for me to answer my question.
"Ashton!" I jump up, excited, and suddenly Michael is awake.
"When?" He asks me, standing up to head to his bathroom.
"Tomorrow," I take a seat on the edge of Michael's bed and grin. Michael walks into his bathroom and grabs his toothbrush and toothpaste, beginning to brush his teeth.
"Do you realize it's been 7 months since we last saw him, but now he's finally returning," I lay back on Michael's bed, in pure bliss.
My brother is coming home.
**"You know what I've realized," I say, as Michael, Calum, Luke, and myself sit on the curb outside my home.
"Hm?" Luke asks me. Well at least I know someone's paying attention.
"You," I point to Luke, "and you," I then point to Calum on my other side, "have never met my brother."
And suddenly it hits them too. They've always heard stories about him, but they've never actually met him, and vice versa.
"Huh, I never realized that," calum says, looking out at the house across from us.
"Well shit, now I'm scared," Luke lightly chuckles, as we all do.
"There's nothing to be scared of," I try reassuring him, but Michael had other plans.
"But then again, he is your older brother. Your father figure, so, I don't know man," Michael states and he has a point.
"Well, best of luck to the both of ya," I pat them both on the back, and perfect timing, his old white ford pick up truck pulls up.
"He's here!" I squeal in excitement, standing up from my place on the curb.
But I am soon very confused when he pulls up with a very unexpected guest. A female that is.
He hops out of the car, his hair longer and more styled than usual, meaning he had a man bun. My brother had a man bun.
A man bun.
"Ashton!" I shout and run to him as he waits for me with open arms. I jump and hug him and he spins me around once, then setting me back on my feet.
"Hey kiddo!" He smiles at me, those dimples showing.
"Where have you been my entire life," I hug him again around the waist, his arms wrapping protectively around me.
"It's only been 7 months," he laughs.
"7 months too long," I mumble into him. I'm trying so hard not to cry.
"I know, I'm overdue for a visit," I hear him sigh, my signal to release and reassure him with a smile.
"Nice hair," I chuckle, looking at his tied back hair.
"Thanks. I heard that the longer your hair is, the wiser you are," he laughs, joking around. I just shake my head and chuckle.
"I've got some people for you to meet," I smile at him, and he replies with a dido.
"But first," he then walks past me and over to Michael, both of them embracing in a hug.
You see, Michael is an only child, hence why we hang out so often, hence why he is so close with Ashton too, because Ashton is like a big brother he's never had.
"And who are these," I see Ashton look over to Luke and Calum standing beside Michael.
"This is Luke," I point to Luke (duh), "and this is Calum."
"So you're Luke," Ashton's face suddenly turns serious as he holds his hand out for Luke to shake, and immediately I see a fear flood over Luke.
Luke hesitantly reaches out for his hand, and as soon as they touch, Ashton turn all bubbly again, "I'm just messing with ya man. It's good to meet you. I hope you've been taking care of my baby sister."
"Wouldn't think twice about it," Luke sighs in relief. Too bad he doesn't know that Ashton doesn't know we broke up.
"And it's good to meet you too, Calum," he smiles, shaking calums hand as well.
"Ahem," I hear an unfamiliar voice speak from beside us. I look to see that it's the girl who arrived in Ashton's truck. Wow, she's pretty.
"Uh, well, Alice. This is my, um, girlfriend, Janelle," he stumbles with words as he walks over towards her, wrapping his arm around her shoulder.
"Oh," I say, shocked.
"Nice to finally meet you," she says sweetly, holding her hand out for me to shake, which I oblige.
"You too," honestly I'm at a loss for words. Ashton never once mentioned he had a girlfriend to me the MANY times we've talked. Wonder when this happened.
"Well, shall we go inside?" Michael interrupts this very awkward moment. Thank you, Michael.
"Uh, yeah. Mind helping me with the bags," Ashton motions over to the car, and Michael gladly follows.
"Shall we go inside?" I look over towards Luke and Calum, who look utterly confused. For once, I understand them.

Yes, no, is this a thing? Let me know how I'm doing so far! And I swear I'm actually trying
