Gerard's pov

I woke up the next morning in my dark room. There was a small ray of light shining in my dark room. I groaned as I lie there staring at the ceiling. I could feel a few tears leaking out of my eyes.i wasn't crying, these were just due to lack of sleep.

I eventually forced myself to get out of bed. I sad on the edge of my bed and found the socks that I had left on the floor and pulled them on.

I hate mornings.

I lifted myself out of bed and toddle my way to the bathroom. I lent my arm against the wall, looking at myself closely in the mirror as I still couldn't see all that well as I had just woken up.
Hello reflection. Shaggy black dirty hair and smudged eyeliner. I slapped my hands on my face letting them pull down the bottom of my eyes, exposing the flesh of my lid, as I let out and uggghh. I walked out of the bathroom realising there was no point even bothering trying to fix myself up and make myself look a bit better.

Coffee. It's definitely coffee time.

I smiled in my sleepy state as I thought about coffee.

I plodded my way to the little kitchen. Mikey was sitting at the kitchen table chewing down cereal while watching tv.

"The beast awakens!" Mikey laughs. "Hah shut up." I say in my grumbly morning voice as I rub my eye with the sleeve of my hoodie. "I was hoping you'd be up soon, I made you a coffee." He said as he added more cornflakes to his bowl.

I looked at the bench and saw a, still hot, cup of black coffee. I picked it up,  closed my eyes and smiled as I felt the warm cup heat up my hands.

"Thanks Mikey." I said as I walked behind him ruffling his hair. I took a seat across from him and took the first glorious sip of the hot bitter liquid.

"So what are you planning on doing today?" I asked him as he watched the tv. "I was just going to hang out with pete." He said not keeping his eyes off the tv. "Okay sounds fun." I replied with a shrug. "How about you?" He asked back. Unlike Mikey, I didn't actually have friends. "I don't know, might just go for a walk around, discover new cool places to sit. I don't know. It could be like an adventure." I said casually adding a faint laugh at the end as I sipped my coffee. Mike didn't say anything. I looked over at him and his eyes were glued to the tv. But his facial expression was one of shock.

"Holy shit." He whispered quietly in a gasp. "Mikey your language, gosh." I said sarcastically pretending to be mum. But then I looked at the tv. "Oh shit." I said under my breathe.

On the tv was the news. "The body of a 16 year old boy was found on the pavement near a run down apartment building. Police are saying that this was most likely a suicide, but after testing the boy they found that he was heavily intoxicated and in his drunken state probably toppled of the building accidentally." The news reporter woman said.

I hid my smile in my coffee cup as I took another sip. It's funny seeing the thing I did, on the tv, and yet no one knows it was me.

There where a bunch of police men shown on the tv in the area they found the body. Oh look at all the beautiful commotion I've made.

"That's, that's the guy that beat me up the other day!" Mikey said unable to believe the news before him. "I can't believe it, he's, he's dead. That means, that means he's not going to be an ass to me anymore gerard!" He said sounding kind of of sympathetic and sad at first, but his voice just got happier as the realisation hit him that he doesn't have to fear this person anymore.

I removed the cup from my lips showing him my smile. This is what I look forward to after all the effort. His smile, the relief that you can see flood through him. I've done this once before for him, when he was younger. To three boys who bullied him really bad. They put Mikey in hospital. So I had to make sure they got what they deserved.
