After picking myself off the floor, I trudged down the hallway, my feet dragging solemnly.
What was I going to do now? I mean, I could keep looking for the Shards, but that would take months! Years, even! Eilian was the only one who knew where they all were. I had no clue! It was convenient, to be honest. He was a man that liked to be the only one in the know, not really caring about what damage he causes in the aftermath.
My heart ached terribly. And now he was gone. And soon Eon would come for me. But...
I dug around in the satchel. Inside were eight Shards, all the ones we'd collected so far with two left to go. I found the list.
Fortunately, it wasn't too long. Six names were listed. The top two were circled. The first name had an arrow poking out of it: see him first. The second had the same thing: your leader.
There were no time periods. No locations. Just names. Great. Just fantastic. As if this was going to make my life any easier. How was I supposed to find these people if I had no idea where they were? Or, more accurately put, when they were.
Fortunately, I was familiar with the first name. And I knew where to go to find him.

S.H.I.E.L.D. Headquarters hadn't changed since the last time I'd been there. I'd honestly thought they'd moved into the Triskelion by now. It had been a few decades since it was built. But I knew the man I was looking for still had an office in the Hub, so that's where I decided to start.
