After the Chunin exams, I went to visit Lee in hospital. He was heavily injured by Gaara of the Sand. The feeling I got from that red head was that he was similar to Naruto in the fact that he was a jinchuriki as well. We had been matched up against each other once the matches had ended, to inform us of who we were to face next time. However, we were allowed a weeks break to train and recover. I decided to use this time to visit Lee. Entering the hospital and walking along the halls with flowers in my hands, I came to a stop outside his door. Knocking, I heard him call for me to enter and so I did.
"Hey, Lee. How ya holding up?" I smiled. He grinned at me and gave me a thumbs up.
"Don't worry Tsukiko. I'll be fine soon." He encouraged me, and it seemed like he was trying to convince himself as well. "Sasuke's also in the hospital right? Is he ok?"
"Sasuke's doing ok. Papa's going to train him once he's doing better. Naruto won't be happy about that." I giggled, imagining the horrified and devastated look on Naruto's face when my father told him.
"Who's training you?" He asked curiously.
"Nobody." I shrugged. "I'll be training by myself like normal. It allows me to concentrate."
"You're very strong Tsukiko, though I think you're holding yourself back. Why is that?" He queried. Shocked at his reply, I flinched. He noticed and smiled, glad that he had gotten it right. It was true. I did hold myself back, but only because I didn't want to be the person that my mother raised me to be. A killer that did her dirty work for her. "You're an excellent rival for me, so make sure to show me what you've really got next time, ok?"
"Ok, I will." I smirked, deciding to take on his challenge. Maybe I could hone my skills to use what I could before. Just because I was trained to kill like an ANBU, didn't mean I had to kill my opponents, just knock them out. I would make sure to train myself to both hold back, and show them my true power. "Has Sakura visited?" A faint blush went across his cheeks and his eyes lit up.
"Yes. It made my day." He grinned, reminding me of a kid who just got his favourite snack or sweets.
"Well that's good." I smiled softly. "I think I'm gunna head off. Haven't seen Kiba and that lot for a while. Get well soon Lee." He nodded and smiled in thanks before watching me leave the room.Heading off to Kiba, Hinata and Shino's usual training ground, I found them all working hard to improve themselves. I masked my presence and put myself up in a tree nearby. Kiba was working with Akamaru on fang over fang, while Hinata was working on her Byakugan, and Shino was...... well I wasn't actually sure. Something to do with his bugs? Akamaru stopped and sniffed at the air, his tail wagging as he seemed to pick up a scent........ my scent. He barked happily at Kiba who grinned in return and began scanning the area, however he frowned when he couldn't see me. He said something to Hinata who began searching with her Byakugan. Her eyes landed on me and she gave me a soft smile. Pouting, I jumped out of my hiding spot in a tree and landed a few feet away from them all. Shino nodded in acknowledgement while Kiba, Akamaru and Hinata ran over.
"Hey Tsukiko!" They both smiled at the same time while Akamaru let out a bark as a greeting. Bending down to stroke him, I smiled up at the other two.
"How's the training going?" I asked curiously.
"It's going well, of course." Kiba grinned. "Akamaru and I are getting better at fang over fang the more we practice."
"It's um...... going well..... thanks." Hinata stuttered.
"Glad to hear it." I beamed.
"You made it through right? Congratulations. Do you know who you're up against next time?" Kiba asked. Rubbing the back of my neck, I smiled embarrassed.
"Well, I kind of missed the meeting that told us." I chuckled nervously. Hinata looked shocked while Kiba burst into laughter. "It's ok though, I'll find out later from someone."
"Who cares? I'm sure you'll do just fine." Kiba said encouragingly. Hinata nodded in agreement and even Shino nodded from his position a few meters away.
"Thanks guys. I think I'd better go see my papa and Naruto now. I'll see you all later." Turning around, I began to walk off with a wave to them all. Naruto wasn't going to be happy with papa not training him, I wonder who he got instead.....?Skipping back into the hospital, I arrived in time to see Naruto being kept in a choke hold by Ebisu-sensei. He had black round glasses and wore a black headband to cover his head.
"Why him?" I heard Naruto ask sulkily. "I really don't like this."
"Why would I even want to teach you had Kakashi asked me to?" Ebisu demanded in defense.
"Now, now you two, don't say that." Kakashi walked forward, trying to keep the peace between them. "Well Naruto, out of the four people in our squad, your basics are a mess. Have him teach you those thoroughly.
"How am I inferior to Sakura, Tsukiko and Sasuke?" Naruto exclaimed, clearly still offended.
"Naruto, it's true your basics are a mess." I spoke up, walking forward to rest a hand on his shoulder. "The basics of your skills are very important. Don't worry you can learn them easily enough, right Naruto? After all, you're going to be the Hokage." I grinned, trying to cheer him up.
"Well then, Ebisu-sensei, please take care of him." Kakashi said, turning and walking away. "Tsukiko. Come with me."
"Yes, yes!" I sang, kissing Naruto on the cheek and jumping onto Kakashi's back. "Good luck Naruto! I'll be looking forward to seeing you get stronger!" He waved to me before looking back at Ebisu with a sulking face which caused me to giggle.Arriving at Sasuke's room, I jumped onto the bed next to Sasuke who was awake and glaring at me for disturbing him. However, he quickly lost his glare when I kissed his cheek. His eyes widened and he blushed slightly which caused me to start laughing.
"Tsukiko." Kakashi's voice stopped my laughing fit and caused me to look up at his disapproving eyes.
"Sorry papa." I apologised, looking down at the floor. I heard him sigh before he walked over to me and ruffled my hair.
"Well done on passing you two. Neither of you know who your next opponent is and so you have to be extra cautious. Sasuke had a reason while Tsukiko, I'm guessing you just forgot to go." He said to us. "Sasuke, I'll be training you starting tomorrow so make sure you listen carefully to what I say. But Tsukiko, you don't have anyone to train you do you? Are you going to be ok? Though I know you're strong, I can't help but ask."
"I'm fine papa. I'll be training myself and doing what I can. You concentrate of training Sasu here." I smirked, poking said boy in the cheek.
"Get off." I heard him huff. Deciding to ignore him, I continued poking his cheek until he grabbed hold of my finger with a glare. Kakashi let out a cough causing us to turn our heads to look at him.
"Yes?" I queried, tilting my head to the side slightly. Sighing, he grabbed hold of me and picked me up before setting me down on the floor.
"I'm proud of you Tsukiko. You've done well, so show us what you've got in the next lot of trials." He gave me a closed eye smile and gestured for me to leave. Kissing him on the cheek, I skipped out of the room and made my way to the training grounds. Time to get rid of some energy! After spending hours training, it became dark and I realised it was time to head home. When I got there, the lights weren't on which meant that Kakashi was either out or already away for training with Sasuke. Never mind! More room for me! Finding money on the kitchen counter, I picked it up and decided to keep it for tomorrow. I wasn't hungry and instead just found myself becoming more and more tired. Maybe I should have an early night? With that thought in mind, I ran up the stairs and jumped on to my bed. Too tired to get changed, my eyes fluttered closed and I allowed myself to succumb to the darkness of sleep. I was gunna make my papa and team proud by passing the Chunin Exams!
Sorry for the long wait, I've been very busy and writing stories hasn't been going well for me. This isn't much but here's a chapter. I'm hoping to write more soon so hopefully I can get back into the flow. Mocks for my A Levels are coming up so I reckon I'll probably be writing more than revising ^_^ hehe woops. Hope you're all well and hope you've enjoyed this and the story so far! x
