An hour or so after I left Naruto to sort out the problem with that boy who reminded me of an ANBU, one of the Konoha ANBU appeared in front of me. They ordered me to go and see Tsunade-sama. Not bothering to question them, I quickly made my way to her office and walked in without knocking. She looked to be arranging something but I paid no attention.
"You are to attend a mission with your friends Gareth and Talia. It involves something to do with the men who once had you three. It seems their friends found out that you now belong to Konoha and are causing problems for others in a search for you all. I want you and the others to go and find where they are, and then kill them. The last we heard, they were in the Hidden Village of the Sand." Tsunade informed me. I had to go back there again?! Seriously?
"But what about my team?" I asked, confused as to why she had to send me. That was until I saw the look in her eyes. It was our mess, and so we were to clean it up. Well that was fair enough. "Have they been informed of this?"
"Yes they have, and with Kakashi out of the team for now to recover, they are looking for new members but that has also been sorted." She explained. "You leave today."
"Yes, Tsunade-sama. We will depart immediately." I bowed respectfully before leaving. What the hell? First she puts me on the team to soften up, and then she sends me off to go and kill people? That woman confused me....Arriving home, I found Talia and Gareth in their bedrooms flopped down on their beds. The lazy sods.
"Get up! We have a mission!" I yelled, standing in the hallway between their bedroom doors. They both jumped up and came to their doorway quickly, hearing the annoyance in my voice.
"What mission? Why?" Talia asked, tilting her head to the side confused.
"A mission to the Hidden Village of the Sand. Seems the pricks who owned us had some friends that want revenge. They're causing trouble for everyone in their search for us, so our lovely Hokage wants us to kill them." I explained, sarcasm clear in my tone. At the mention of being able to kill some hassles, both of them seemed to perk up and I had to admit, even I felt myself become thrilled at the knowledge of being able to kill some nuisances. We were messed up and were excited to kill....... maybe I was more like my mother than I thought because of those men...... "We leave today." They nodded in understanding and got to packing up anything they needed. Walking into my room I began doing the same.Once we were all ready, we left out to the gates. Before we got there, I heard my name being called out. Twisting round, I was surprised to see Sakura and Naruto standing there.
"Where are you all going?" Sakura asked confused.
"We've been sent on a mission." I informed her.
"It's to do with people that know of us." Talia chuckled.
"So you're her friends......." I heard Gareth mutter. Glancing back at him, I raised an eyebrow to receive a smirk as a reply. Ok then...... Looking back to my two former teammates, I put on a smile.
"Well we're gunna be gone for a bit so we'll see you guys when we get back, ok? Stay safe until then please." Sakura leapt forward and threw her arms around me in a hug which I returned with a soft chuckle.
"You better come back safe as well." She told me, her voice concerned. Naruto was scanning over the katanas at our sides and the looks on Gareth's and Talia's faces before his eyes landed on me again. He seemed to see that there was something about this mission that only us and the Hokage knew which would be our past and the link to our targets. Sakura pulled away and took a few steps back while Naruto came forward and just stood in front of me with a conflicted look on his face.
"Yes, Naru?" At the use of my nickname for him, he seemed to snap out of it and grinned at me instead, wrapping his arms around me and pulling me to his chest in a hug.
"Come back safe and we'll have some ramen, right?" He laughed.
"Sure thing." I chuckled, ruffling his hair and pulling back. He glanced to Gareth and Talia and seemed to send them a message through his eyes which I ignored. He seemed really protective of me and I found it both amusing and irritating. I'd been through a lot and could handle myself.
"Make sure she stays safe, I know what she's like. Reckless." Naruto practically commanded the other two. They stared at him amused and glanced over to me only to receive a glare which made them lose their amused looks straight away.
"Alright then......" I spoke up again. "We've gotta leave now, so we'll see you when we get back." I informed them, beginning to walk off with a wave. They shouted their goodbyes as we left out of the gates and down the path. We were going to use the same pathway that my former team had used with Temari to get to the Hidden Village of the Sand.
