The next day, I was woken up by a body jumping on top of my own. Lifting up my leg, I kicked the body off of me causing them to land on the floor with a loud thud. From the groan, I gathered that it was Talia. God she was like Naruto had been when we were young and he was excited..... Guess that may have been why I was drawn to her......
"Tsuki! That's mean!" She whined, and I could practically hear the pout in her voice.
"Don't wake me up then." I sighed annoyed. Movement could be heard before the covers were yanked off of my body and I curled up into a ball to try to keep the sudden chill from affecting me. Sitting up, I span round to see her standing there with a grin. "Fine!" I snapped, hopping off the bed and exiting the room to go to the bathroom for a shower. God help me this girl was going to drive me insane one day.....After the shower, I got dressed into my choice of clothes. A pair of black shorts, a white crop top and black ninja sandals. Slipping on my ninja forehead protector, I wrapped it around my neck and left my hair cascading down my back until it stopped at my waist. My forearms were covered as the scars were still there but I no longer cared about showing my other scars, they were a part of me and it was time I got over that fact. The only one I definitely wanted to keep covered was the one from my mother that only Kakashi, Hiruzen and Ibiki had ever seen. Walking down the stairs, I was greeted by Gareth holding out a bowl of ramen to me. Nodding in thanks, I sat down and dug in. Nothing had changed with my food preferences. Ramen was still my favourite but unfortunately when working for those three prats, I didn't get the luxury of eating any. A shift in the air which was usually caused by someone materializing occurred and I glanced up, not surprised to see an ANBU standing there.
"Hatake Tsukiko, you've been summoned by Tsunade-sama. You are to come to the office immediately." He informed me before disappearing again. What on earth did she want with just me?
"Are you gunna go?" Gareth asked me from his position at the kitchen entrance. Sighing, I set my bowl down on the little table in front of me and ran a hand through my hair.
"I'm going to have to." I shrugged.
"Why would she want only you when there's three of us?" Talia piped up curiously, tilting her head to the side.
"Who knows? I'm off out then. See ya." I murmured, waving lazily before disappearing out of the door.I strolled nonchalantly through Konoha and noticed nobody pay me any attention once they saw the Konoha forehead protector wrapped around my neck. I'd kept it close to me ever since my mother had sold me back then. As much as I hated to admit it, I still cared about this place and the people here. Arriving at the Hokage's building, I traveled up the stairs to come to a stop outside of Tsunade's office. Just as I was going to knock, I heard voices from inside and halted my actions to listen in.
"Huh? You got a problem with that?" Tsunade's grouchy voice demanded.
"It's only a C-Rank!" A familiar voice complained. Recognising it as Naruto's slightly matured voice, I sighed and internally laughed. He was still at it. Trying to get higher ranked missions to prove himself and get closer to being a Hokage. "I'm gunna have to say no thank you to that mission."
"Naruto, I assigned you a simpler mission because you haven't been in action for a while."
"That's bull! I don't need you to go easy on me!" He defended himself.
"I'm so sorry. Let me talk to him for a second." A voice apologised. Sakura? Was that her?
"The details of the mission are written here." Tsunade spoke up once again. I heard more fuss before a woman ran up behind me and opened the door, rushing in up to the Hokage's desk saying how something was an emergency.
"The Hidden Village of the Sand's Kazekage has been kidnapped by the Akatsuki." The Akatsuki? I knew of them. The three fools I worked under spoke of them a lot. They were after the power of the Jinchuriki's of the world and planned to seal or use their power or something alike. "Team Kakashi, I'm assigning you a new mission. You are to go the Hidden Village of the Sand, find out more bout the situation, and send a report back to Konoha. You will also follow any of their orders and provide back up!" She looked straight forward and noticed me standing at the door as well then beckoned for me to enter the room. "You will have another accompany you to the Hidden Village of the Sand." All eyes turned to me and I saw Naruto's eyes widen as well as his jaw fall. Sakura's eyes held confusion at Naruto's reaction but when her eyes landed on my well developed and almost on show breasts, she glared and began grumbling quietly to herself. Kakashi scanned me and didn't seem to recognise me either until he met my gold eyes which was when a sense of recognition sank in and was obvious in his eye. "Meet your new teammate, who you already know....." Just as Tsunade was about to say my name, Naruto jumped in.
"Tsukiko!" He exclaimed. Sakura froze and stared at me in shock and confusion, though happiness could also be seen. Kakashi's eye was wide open and looked to be getting tearful. Oh dear......
"You will leave immediately for your destination." Tsunade ordered. "First I wish to speak with Tsukiko, the rest of you go." They nodded in understanding and left the room quite reluctantly. Everyone but Tsunade, Iruka and I were left in the room now, and it felt extremely awkward. Iruka seemed completely surprised by my change in appearance as well as by my lack of reaction to seeing my team again. "Do you understand why I've put you with this team again Tsukiko?" She queried. Shaking my head, I propped my hands up on my hips and waited for her response. "I've talked with Gareth and he agrees that you need to open up again. This team will allow you to do that, as well as allowing for you to remember what being in a team felt like. You need this and will comply with my orders, do you understand?" Gareth was in on this?! God Damn that irritating man! I told him I'd try didn't I?
"Yes, Tsunade-sama. I understand." I bowed respectfully and was about to exit through the doors, but I sensed my team standing outside so I walked towards the open window and without listening to Tsunade's protest, I leapt out and ran along the rooftops. Better go collect my stuff I suppose.Standing outside my front door, I threw the door open and flew inside, sensing where Gareth was and rushing in that direction. I found him sitting in his room with Talia staring at some book, which happened to be from the Icha Icha series. God damn perverts. They turned with smiles until they saw my irritated expression and realisation crossed onto Gareth's face.
"Um..... Hey Tsukiko, what did she want?" Gareth chuckled nervously. Stalking towards him, I grabbed onto his shirt and pinned him against the wall. For being smaller and younger than him, I was extremely strong, especially when pissed off.
"What's the big idea of you telling Tsunade that I need to open up? Why did she have to get involved Gareth?" I practically growled out. Having people get involved with my business irritated me beyond belief.
"She's here to help Tsuki, after all she is our Hokage now." He explained, his voice strong now and his eyes fixed on mine.
"She's put me in their bloody team again! I'm stuck doing a mission with them now and who knows how it'll turn out now? Do you want me to open up or break?" I shouted, my voice cracking and tears welling up. He looked surprised and I saw that understanding crossed between Talia and Gareth.
"Oh Tsuki......" He sighed. "They won't hurt you, nor will they hate you for how you are. You've had it rough, we all have, and they'll understand. You can't keep yourself closed off Tsuki, one day or another it's just going to make things worse if you hold everything back. Maybe you'll crash and get depression or maybe you'll let your love of killing consume you, who knows? But you can't risk it so calm yourself, collect what you need and go off with your team. We'll be here waiting for your return, and maybe you'll make more friends?"
"What about Kiba?" I asked weakly.
"Leave him till when you come back." Talia piped up cheerfully, sending me an encouraging grin. "The dog can wait." Chuckling, I wiped my unshed tears away and shut my eyes, breathing slowly before opening them to reveal calm and collected ones. A little trick I learnt to stop myself from showing that I was feeling emotional back then.... Might as well give it a go. Hugging them both, I went straight to my room and used scrolls to store any belongings I needed then placed them into a pouch that rested on my right hip. Money also resided in my pouch and so did some extra shuriken and kunai. The other kunai and shuriken were strapped to my thighs so I could reach them easily. Attaching my katana to my hip, I took a deep breath and was ready to go. Time to give this whole team thing another shot.Sorry it's short, I haven't been able to keep hold of my laptop or anything so I could quite and go through the episodes again haha, but this shall be continued as soon as I manage to do so! I have less stress and its almost christmas so I'm hoping that I'll have more time to do this story. What do you all think of it so far? Enjoying it or no? Hope you're all ok, and have a good day/afternoon/night! ^_^
